Haven't you seen an upscale wedding in Lahore? The grandeur of the kulla and garlands is a sign of wealth .

It's not really as girly as you're imagining it, you can't tell much from this picture. The groom rides in on a white horse. There's a lot more to it than that can be imagined from a western point of view.
