What's new

Are we able to make an aircraft like F-16?

Err, I would take China's greater experience in AESA radars over Saab's 60 years in the radar field.

China has been in the radar business for 50 years now and has far, far greater funds that Saab can even dream of.

I think you are being nationalistic here rather than looking at it from a neutral perspective.

Yet SAAB has GaN AESA in production and China has not.
Obviously China has more funds, but that does not translate to beeing ahead.
It just means that they have more capability to design many variations of technology
they have mastered, not that they are more advanced.

I disagree humbly..... I was in this field, Swedes have a huge deal of expertise and very good technologies. they always are low key players.

Ok. Whoever is in 2nd place behind US it wont be by much that is for sure.

All those on the list can produce radars that are good enough to get the job done.

And China cannot also produce very good radars as well?

Anyway no way to prove who is best so no point carrying on with this.

Disregarding
  • Selex (Gripen, Eurofighter)
  • Thales (Rafale)
  • SAAB (which has GaN AESA in production)
  • Russians
looks like an amateur keyboard warrior in action...
your knowledge regarding China's advanced avionics and array radar industry is very limited, ignorant I have to put for you to be honest.....should I mention it to you that most of those listed countries and companies have already sent people to China asking for cooperation, and to share some techs```shocking isnt it? `````well thats the reality now````

I cant say much about engine or precision engineering sector for China, but in terms of advanced avionics and radar sectors there are only two serious players``` China and U.S``` forget about Selex and SAAB, there are all media hype```

.
I'm not a technical guy. I have no good knowledge of aeronautical engineering. But I'm interested to know if we have ability to manufacture an aircraft like F-16?

JF-17 is mashaAllah a wonderful project. Can't we get China or Russia to do another joint venture for something like or better than F-16?

You can ask China to sell you a J-10B customized into some thing like JF-10P and call it a Joint China-Pakistan medium weight fighter. I wonder why you never bought the plane in the first place. It will be much cheaper than F-16, it will be from your Iron Brothers with all the brotherly love and best part is that India will never be able to lay its hand on the plane! So JF-10P when?

lol. another ignorant nonsense, we dont have GaN AESA? Im sure you are getting these nonsense from forums dont you?

Yeah right! Euro fighter consortium, BAE, Dassault, Elta do not exists in your alternative dimension. All media hype, right?

Biggest problem with Chinese wares is that they are unproven. No one knows if they work or not. Most of the western weapons system are battle proven.

yes it is called JF-17.. and its on its way to become a better figher than F-16
it can be customized and improved according to our wishes without any threats of sanctions or blackmailing by the west

Name one product in production containing GaN AESA then.
Should not be hard.

why make an aircraft like F-16?

Now the main aerodynamics technology power, US\china\russia move on to 5th G fighter
For us/china already start 6th G fighter R&D
F16 is classic fighter ,but now it is also an obsolete platform

After the US deal couldn't materialize PAF wanted to buy used F-16 jets from Jordan, now these planes were Block 30 why would you want to buy a old-generation F-16 when you have option of brand-new latest J-17s? Even as you mentioned that F-16s are prone to sanctions still PAF wants them even older generations one over the J-17s. In fact PAF got used F-16s (Block-15) over brand new J-17s in the past

Pakistan may buy used F-16 jets from Jordan
Pakistan Purchases F-16s From Jordan

Very simple, 2 reasons.

We are aware of how Mother India is trying to flex her thighs and block our air force supplies.
The JF17's production line cannot produce enough aircraft.
Since the role of strike and intercept will be with F-16 mostly until the advance attack aircraft is inducted;
Thus we are on the lookout of juicy deals, to SUPPLEMENT our efforts where possible.

The fact that we have the training, technical know how and the man power for F-16 is very difficult to offset.

.
The problem then was price, you wanted them subsidies and US said that you have to pay full. Thus PAF is now hunting for used old-generation F-16s instead of brand-new latest J-17s.
wrong, the problem was not the price(Pakistan has an acquisition budget of 2-3 billion dollars a year)
problem is cost effectiveness of the plateform, its not worth 100Million, used f-16s would require a node from LM, who is betting that pakistan will buy new ones.
PAF would prefer paying 100M for 5th gen plateform which would be available in 3-5 years rather than f-16s
