Are Seraiki people a sub group of punjabis or are they there own ethnicity?

in punjab there is a variety of ethnicities
many clans like rajputs and Dogars are completely different then punjabi defination
same goes with baloch and pathan tribes

I hear urdu speaker complain that Punjabis always speak Punjabi amongst themselves even in the presence of urdu speaker, why cant they speak urdu when they know it!... now you telling me we hate our language because you seen some mommy daddy families...you must be living in a bad neighborhood brother.

Do you ever wonder why Urdu speakers can understand punjabi (if spoken slowly) while they cant understand Sindi or Pushto?? ... thats because Punjabi and urdu has 50% common words with slightly different accent. Do you know Lahore was and is the center of Urdu literature.

Do you ever wonder why Punjab was the center of most Indian Empires. Punjabi accept change they dont resist it with guns. They are creative, I am from Karachi but I believe in Lahore for the reason that Lahore attracted geniuses from the entire region during Mughal Era and those Dormant Genes will wake up again once given the opportunity.

you know Punjab takes big chunk of development budget but do you know what Punjab produces, do you also know that 90% of Pakistan's exports originate from Punjab. Do you also know that 80% of expats are Punjabi sending 80% of Pakistan's remittances to Punjab which are spent in Punjab.

Saraiki are mixture of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan and a different ethnic group not Punjabis at all.. the good thing about them is that they can easily mix with all neighbors,

btw i am not even sure about Pothoharis, some of them also consider themselves non Punjabi.. @save_ghenda have very good understanding of Punjab.. Plz correct me if i am wrong about Pothoharis..

I think its right time to divide Punjab.. a big Punjab is developing superiority complex among people like @AsianUnion .. i being a Punjabi from KHI ask all other ethnic groups to rise against fake Punjab, we need original Punjab, which is central Punjab..

People need to remember modern borders even on provincial level are not drawn on ethnic lines 100%. I have looked up south AJK tribes/clans of Mirpur and Bhimber and many are identical to ones living in districts in Jhelum and Gujrat which end up in punjab province. Apart from the fact that pahari, punjabi and potohari spoken in these districts are very very similar though not identical, just watch any video on youtube. You have more in common with someone from Jhelum/punjab then someone from Jhelum/Punjab have it with Bawalpur/Punjab.

Its not just punjab but every province is ethnically diverse. Hindko of Abbotabad/KPK have more in common with potoharis then they have with pashtuns. Think of modern provincial borders as administrative units instead of all of people living in them practising same culture from one corner to another. Remember I'm only talking about rural areas, urban city culture is becoming pretty much same all over Pakistan.

If i did equate it I would have actually said it, You are like Indians, Afghanis, race, colour, ethnic, culture, length and breath.

I grew up in Bahawalpur and Saraikis aren't too different from punjabis. Sweet language though.

Aren't much difference but still different. Your ancestors settled in south punjab from upper punjab or as they say real punjab. Though migrations have been both ways in recent times. If you notice many changar/gypsy people in upper punjab are all seraikis originally. Those who have settled in villages doing kammi jobs for zamindars have adopted local language but those who still live like gypsys isolated speak in seraiki like accent.

In general, but there were always some Punjabis there. Those fertile lands you see occupied by Punjabis today in Southern Punjab used to be jungle and forest.

I don't think punjab being bigger have anything to do with asianunion chauvinist behaviour, he seem to me more like relative of Nooras then anything else. PPP used to be pretty big supporter of seraikistan but they chickened out on demand of Karachi province. Now looks like they are against more provinces in general.

I believe more provinces will be made in one go. So Karachi, Hazara, potohar, seraiki etc will be made new provinces in one go. In punjab there is no ethnic tension between people of different parts at all, the demand is purely for administrative control. But same cannot be said of Karachi province.
