Are Northern Light Infantry troops descendants of Genghis Khan? I am asking because the people of region from where they hail share atleast two or three or four characteristics with Genghis Khan.

1. Fierce warriors
2. Mongoloid features

Most of the people who live there are not Kalashis meaning that they are not descendants of gengiz khan
Secondly they come from diverse areas such as Afghanistan or specifically the wakhan corridor
most of them originated from Tajikistan or the badakhshan province and from Iran(old Persia)
some of the people have also origins from Armenia (or something like that not confirmed)
so the soldiers in NLI are not from Mongolia or something like that

Mongols won many wars because they were battle hardened. Culture, your way of living, effects not just you but upcoming generations for years. The difference of time beween Usain Bolt and fastest Asian is not much, that very small difference developed over hundreds of years because of the climate and hunting in jungles. American people today spend a lot of time on thier fitness, it has become thier culture which reflects in sports. If people over generations keep practicing same thing, they eventualy get better at it. Reverse is also true, those same descends of those same mongols may not be that good at battles today. Don't get confused in Racial and Cultural differences. It takes way less time to develop a different culture.

They are Indi European and some groups are branches of Tibetan people. For more @WAJsal. .
