Are ASEAN militaries ready to cooperate?

.
The number one issue is the differences of SoP and doctrinal standard among ASEAN military units. Malaysia lean toward Commonwealth doctrine perse, Thailand Indonesia and Singapore is leaning toward US standard, Vietnam is very rigid like Sovyet, Cambodia with her people army is very much adopted the old PLA way of fighting. Thus our equipment and platform is so differ and it will need a lot of time to standardize all of the important logistics issue among Asean member.
SO how can ur country stop China fighter when they can fly over ur sky from air base in Spratly when u have Nothing to destroy their base ??

.
tell me if you have your idea about that.
Soviet and Vietnam are very different about leverage, so never use same doctrine.
Vietnam has their own doctrine based on their own experiences to fight France, USA, China ..

We tought you everything, from how to write your names to how to fight the French and the Americans。

Guess you know the name of your most famous general‘s mentor?:azn::D

You never taught us writing our names. You want other to attract to your words or attract their hate by saying so?

For anti-air, I think Chinese could learn something from our combats to American.
Even Soviet Union could have some lessons learn from our feedback of real combats to improve their weapons and tactics.

After we getting a HU-1A helicopter, we passed it to Soviet Union, and they said that they learn so much from that.

Our military get support from China, Soviet Union. That's totally true, my friend.
Meanwhile, the first fighting skill lessons we get from Office of Strategic Services (OSS) a predecessor of CIA, in 1944, ie. how to use a grenade, a carbine ...

We never forget even a little help.

In 1995, Mr. Prunier returned to Hanoi for a reunion with some of the surviving Viet Minh he had helped. Recognizing him, General Giap picked up an orange and displayed the grenade-lobbing technique Mr. Prunier had taught him.

“Yes, yes, yes!” the general exclaimed.

We also appreciate Imperial Japanese soldiers gave support Viet Minh even after they were defeated and pending for surrender.

ASEAN will never have the confidence to adopt a multilateral military force as long as 2 poor rogue countries among them try desperately to derail the true focus of ASEAN, and drag the others into a military conflict with an external country. The idea of fighting a war and getting their own soldiers killed just so certain rogue states can poach others' islands and use them to extend their banana plantations must be a nauseating prospect.
I wonder why you dislike banana. The fruit is a good source of vitamins, unlike in urine soaked eggs.

By the way, China is not a member of the club. You have no say. I think we should convince ASEAN to kick your as. out of all meetings.

Don't bullshit please.

Unlike Vietnam, China has never been a recognized military power. Your warfare sucks. There is nothing you can teach us.

You've tried to convince ASEAN to do a lot of things. They have never listened to you. Why should they listen to an inferior whose GDP/capita is lower than Papua New Guinea? While others are upgrading their economies, trying hard to nurture their manufacturing industries, Vietnam is still relying on banana exports to save up enough to buy new missiles or whatever (LOL). And if Vietnam had its way, with its crazy ambitions of military expansion and disrespecting others' territorial integrity, all the others will be dragged into a war that would regress their economies back to the banana-exporting "Vietnam" stage. That's why you have no clout in the group. Just know your place, sit back in the sidelines, and let the more responsible members decide the agenda.

Yeah just continue with your rant, but that will not change the fact you're a second rate military power, with a long history of poor performance on battlefield.

That sucks, isn't?

Now Japan is awakened. No wonder you begin to cry and whine despite being the most populous country in the world.

The thread is not about Japan's militarization. Stick to the topic kid, about a hypothetical ASEAN military. If other ASEAN members don't want to be used as tools to advance VN's imperial agenda and do their dirty work, you should wonder "why?", instead of trying to derail the topic. This forum is not the appropriate place to apply jungle-style smokescreen debating tactics. We prefer to focus on the issues.
