US proxy? Those tribes are also US proxies, both the YPG and the so called Arab tribemen are US allies.

USA has been empowering these Arab tribesmen on the borders of Syraq and they don't meddle in Kurd/Arab conflict for a reason. Kurds are not the dominant force in Deir ez Zor but Arab proxies are. So most possibly USA prefers Arab proxies control that area and expel Kurds. That way a US proxy force will control that sensitive area. I expect big outcomes of this events. If Arab proxies of USA win the battle with Kurds, which is already happening, USA will have a major victory there.

Unless the Kurds agree to expel the occupying US forces and cede control to the Syrian Government, Iran ought to support the Arab tribes to weaken the US-backed Kurds and bring them under Iran's sphere of influence before someone else does.
