Pistons had an energetic team with best defense. It was so fun watching them. Today its a mess.

Most old players retired already and that's why I stopped watching I missed those 5 players in starting line up.

Detroit is so ghetto. The fans are hilarious too. I think that the fans are some of the best out there.

Also I heard that Detroit/Michigan has a sizable Arab community. Many of the 3.5 million Arab-Americans live there.

Detroit for me is this;

Anyway I got huge respect for those elite sportsmen in the States. Many of them come from broken homes, poverty etc. and still make it due to hard work and dedication. As a fierce competitor myself I can identify with them. In fact I regret today that I did not focus more on my football. I lost interest at the age of 13-15 years. Some of the most important years in your formation as a player and for taking the "next step up" if not the most important years.

Having said that then I still believe that the overall salaries in most sports are outrageous but me and other fans are at fault for this as well by generating interest and thus enabling owners, clubs etc. to spend that kind of money.

what I enjoyed the most was Yamni Daal (lintels) and steam roasted chicken with specialty hot sauce that comes out of every pour of the body when you eat it haha I am talking early 80s now so much of it is distant memory.

Do you play sports?

Currently I am only frequenting the gym, running and occasionally playing football (both outdoors and indoors - futsal) with friends here and fellow students and basketball very rarely. When I lived in Paris with the family I was playing tennis too and doing boxing.

In Denmark, France and in general Europe you got a hell lot of local clubs, even in the tinniest of villages, where local kids and even elders play all kind of sports in local sports clubs etc. I know that the exact same is the case in the US.

Actually I have been thinking of joining a local football club here in Copenhagen as there are a dozen. Actually you can make your own team with friends, students etc. and then you can register your team at local tournaments etc. with other amateurs. The problem is laziness and time and the fact that I have to buy new football boots, shin pads etc.

The 1980's is a time period before my birth brother. That's very tasty indeed.

I was just trying to tell Kollang that uromastyx (which is the only reptile eaten in KSA - moreover mostly exclusively in one region of KSA - Najd) is a rather harmless source of food as the reptile is not poisonous but also exclusively eating plants and herbs and occasionally small insects when young. This is moreover one of the few "strange" Arab foods aside from that being nothing compared to what most other people eat out there of "strange" dishes from Latin America, Africa, China, most of Asia etc.

Anyway I am curious. I think that you once told me. Does it really taste like chicken? If not chicken then what kind of meat is it comparable with? Poultry?

Gym , yeah I need to go back to that too.

So KSA going out now matters little as South Korea would have won anyway.

Anyway KSA probably played embarrassing football as they have been doing lately for the past 5-6 years. Nothing like the good old golden days of 5 AFC finals in a row and Asian dominance. Now all that's left is the glorious history.

Hopefully this will mean an overhaul in terms of players and the amateurish FA and a new coach that can stay for longer than 12 months, lol.

I still believe that a fifth World Cup appearance is possible in 2018 in 24 years of time. That would make it 5 out of 7 possible World Cup qualifications.

The talent is clearly there, the technique, quickness, physical strength etc. but the tactical part of the play is embarrassing and also the mentality once when facing adversity. So they got to work on that.

Was Waleed Abdullah as bad as usual and the defensive tactics as headless as feared? Did any of the players even care? It seems that few take it seriously and there are tons of cliques within the team I have heard. A Hilal group, a Ittihad group, a Ahli group, a Nassr group etc. I mean the Saudi Arabian domestic league is arguably the best alongside the Japanese these years yet the national team which is entirely made up by players playing in the domestic league (maybe that is part of the problem?) suck when playing together?

Also what's with firing a good coach 1 month before the AFC? Now they will fire this Romanian and the circus is back. There is no consistency at all. How the hell to achieve a level of relative success in such an environment?

Who the hell cares? The level of football in the AFC is worse than the Danish First Division, lol. Getafe-Real Madrid just started anyway.

Yeah what is destroying the team is that players have allegiance to their respective teams and not their national team. Al-Hilal players loath Nassr and Ittihad players and the feeling is mutual all around, we are probably the only country in the world where we actively support foreign teams against a national club that we don't like. Not due to lack of patriotism, I think it is mainly due to local media liking to flare up controversies between clubs and its members are creating intense feelings of mutual hate.
