I'll have to agree with you to an extent regarding the BJP back in the days and they did have cordial relations, but I believe this was in part due to Mr Advani (family came from Pakistan) and Mr Vajpayee, who both had somewhat of a softer side regarding Pakistan. However the BJP of today is horribly anti-Muslim and it's pogroms and riots which are their hallmarks.
Yes Modi did lift Gujarat out of poverty, there's no argument there, but he did it for Hindus. Muslims are highly marginalised and discriminated on a wide basis, and he's the same chap who called private organisations who were helping the victims of the Gujarat pogrom 'breeding centres'.
As for those 'told you so moments' I've never said it on this forum in my very long history here, I have said these are issues we can't do much about.
