GUANGZHOU, China — Apple raked in its highest ever revenue in the greater China region in the December quarter as a record number of iPhone upgrades helped the U.S. tech giant in one of its most important markets.

Greater China revenue came in at $21.31 billion in the three months ended December 26, up 57% from last year. That was the highest revenue figure for a single quarter in greater China in Apple's history. Apple also recorded its highest ever quarter for total revenue as it reported fiscal first-quarter earnings on Wednesday.

It will be a great bargaining chip by China against American trade war and sanction. Once the sanction is in place of US companies if trade war turn too ugly. Apple and tesla will be doom. Their stock will be come worthless paper. China will confiscated their production line. :enjoy:

Apple should tell all manufacturers to move to Vietnam. We can make the stuffs better, cheaper and deliver them to the iphone loving chinese.

Some Americans question China’s economic growth data, but like to show off the increase in sales of Apple’s mobile phones in China :omghaha: :omghaha: :omghaha:

I wouldn't celebrate this news. Apple's growth has come at the expense of Huawei which has been crippled by sanctions. Countless high-paying jobs at Huawei and its primarily Asian suppliers have been lost as a result, and the Apple/Google store duopoly outside China is now unchallenged. THat's on the software side. On the hardware side Qualcomm has lost an important competitor and will cement its domination of high-end chips for Android smartphones, including supplying Chinese brands like Xiaomi

An even bigger concern is the penetration of a massive American software company into the Chinese market. And Apple is not just an app like Tiktok in the US, it's a huge software ecosystem and platform. Apple's App Store can be seen as an emerging threat to China's social harmony. It is operated directly by Apple in the US while all of its competitors in China use local app stores. Yes the Apple App Store in China does ban Facebook and Youtube (as it should due to the potential of targeted anti-China content), over time its rising market share could provide leverage to delay/resist removal of other anti-China content on its app store.

much of the growth was because of China. $21.3 billion revenue in greater China increase of 57%. Apple must be saying THANK YOU CHINA!

u don't have 1.4 billion people with GDP of USD 11000. Even after moving to Vietnam , you still need to import plenty of component from China for reassemble job and most iphone are destinated to Chinese buyer... :enjoy:

Huawei dipped is temporary. They have the backing of state. China can dump money into any loss sector to help huawei float. Once the foundry and technology are up. Huawei will be back and worst of all, it will challenged intel, apple , qualcomm and TSMC. It is a monster in the making. And we will not need to wake too long.
