Comparing TD with MBT: apples and oranges. Most tanks even today are vulnarable to 90mm high velocity gun PROVIDED they are not engaged over the frontal arc. Hence their use on armored cars e.g. ERC-90, Pandur etc. Works well in terrain not suited well for heavy armor.

Some 40 pieces were recently delivered , M2 has new auto-loader , digital (terrain?) maps , new FCS etc.

This fall a prototype has been demonstrated on a closed show for the high command of the country.
Public show plan to the May 9 parade in honor of Victory Day in 2014, or in 2015.
At the expense of SPG - just rumors, but it seems to be planning to 122mm.
This is the only photo of platform, early 2013

I've also seen information that they create a new type of light dynamic armor for Kurganets-25.
