Apache down-selected for Bangladesh attack helicopter requirement

Japan, South Korea comes to mind
Not that I'm aware of. If that's the case, Japan's X2 and Korean KFX would've already made significant progress by now. Fighter jet develpment is a complex process unless you intend to reverse engineer it or have significant ToT from current gen fighters

Just no weird green with yellows

You’re out of your mind.
8 with 4 on options
And 12 choppers themselves will cost around 1.2 billion dollars if India’s price is anything to go by
i forgot we are 2000 per capita third world. Cant afford anything.

Co-incidently, Indians also took delivery of a batch of 8 AH-64E in July last year. Is it probable that these BD Apache units will be serviced in India under some undisclosed agreements ?

Our Mig 29s to date has never been serviced by Indians. They were bought by Hasina Govt. As well.

So I see no reason why there would be an exception in this case.

The suspicion pops up because Indians excercise more influences on US defense policies in South Asia than they do on the Russians under Putin. Let us wait and see.

In Sha Allah that will not be the case. Let's wait and see what happens.

They will train pilots i guess its part of the deal.

Only 8 seems really low for country of 160 million ppl. Bd should gone for something like 60 plus at least.

What do you think, where will BD use 60 Apaches? Let us know your insights, how well BD can use these Helis in which scenarios. Be brief.

Depends. If our enemy is Myanmar 8 is enough. But if it is india good luck with 8 helicopters. i guess now bd just focus on Myanmar which is silly. Myanmar is already in deep shit.

Just today BBC reported Myanmar citizens will be disqualified to enter usa in the upcoming ban under trump. They are fucking them self up. well the new list include Nigeria and some other countries as well.

12 is not bad bruh. Or 8. Atleast they’re Apache. These will not be the end

I remember one Japanese fighter based on f16 and South Korea has this light fighter trainer that incorporates American tech

BD is buying everything other than the fighter jets....

Burma is buying mostly fighter jets with armaments that can make a difference...

Burma can take out BD’s air and naval defenses within an hour...

Hope it doesn't happen as Boeing has a large operation in India with more than 3000 employees. Another interesting point is this news :
Indian Engineers Mad After Being Connected to Boeing 737 Max Failure
https://interestingengineering.com/...ter-being-connected-to-boeing-737-max-failure

Interesting read, thanks for sharing. Although it wouldn't be fair to entirely blame the Indian engineers for the 737 max issue.

I have doubts regarding outsourcing work to India on sensitive military equipment though. May be I am not well aware of the situation.

The reason I have doubt is that Boeing in Canada does not hire anyone who is not a Canadian or a permanent resident for security reasons. And I have seen one of my Indian friend getting rejected for a job specifically because he was here on just a work permit.

Mitsubishi F2 and the other is FA-50 I think. The latter is a trainer/light attack.
