Apache down-selected for Bangladesh attack helicopter requirement

You would have bd destroy it's progress and infrastructure in a full scale war and for only world powers to exploit the situation. Similar scenarios played in Africa and look how Africa panned out.
Do not call my ethnicity spineless you keyboard warrior.
Who asked you for a full scale war when many things are settled in border conflicts or the possibility of a border conflict? Please, read more war histories. They are not always WW, regional wars, bilateral full-fledged wars. Most are border wars.

Since BD leadership was unwilling to challenge MM, the latter forced its will on it. BD's Hasina lacks motivation to challenges its neighbors. In previous times things were different and MM backed down. One was in 2001 when Khaleda was the PM. MM Backed down from the Naf River spur building. The 2nd time was in 2008 when General Moin was leading the country. MM Navy backed out of contested BoB water.

They had spines and Hasina has none. MM did not do such things without knowing the weak psychology of Hasina and used it to insult BD without firing a bullet. Many wars are fought without bullets but with psychological and diplomatic strengths. Hasina is a failure.

Mosquito and Wasps.

Funny you say this. :-)

There is a Mosquito Helicopter (ultralight category) sold in Australia.

And the Wasp Helicopter was an older UK product (Westland Wasp) from the 60's.

Some how I think there other factors at play, if bd done any physical stance against MM then I think bd would have had to deal with hidden consequences from the west that is not open to the public view. Deep down in the west heart they hate Muslims, but try to be civilised behind smiles.
It would have had economic consequences as well, as most export customers are from the west.

Wonder what the current cost is on the Apache. Probably have to add $10 million USD above price for brown envelopes. That should put it somewhere in the $60 million - $70 million category per helicopter.

Lol no man. The Rohingyas first came to Bangladesh in large number during the mid 1990s when BNP and Khaleda Zia were ruling Bangladesh. Did you forget Nasaka forces killed some BDR troops at Rejupara BOP during the tenure of BNP?

Hasina cannot be blamed for the Rohingya crisis. If Khaleda was PM of Bangladesh she would also have failed to repatriate the Rohingya refugees.

Myanmar in the past was different from what they are now. Before Myanmar was a Pariah state, now foreign countries specially India, China, Russia and ASEAN are investing in Myanmar.

Myanmar in the past was ruled by meat headed generals like Than Shwe who were photo copies of Kim Jong UN but now they are a quasi military run nation.

Lastly Myanmar did not have any allies in the past except for China. Now they have Russia, India and others who can support their genocidal activities.

Hasina cannot do anything. Bangladesh is not a very powerful country and if Hasina tries to call for military action against Myanmar then chances are Europe, India, Russia and China will react. In Bangla words Hasina is now in Mainkar Chipa.

Are not you imagining things to support the weak leadership of Hasina Bibi? Your idea is the USA and western europe would have attacked BD on the shock that it had contested their most favorite MM?

Nations respect powerful and motivated countries. A psychologically weak Bd is not to get favor from the west. So, pray tell us what are these countries' hidden plan? You are a guy who does not feel shame on the thought that India will eat up BD. What kind of weak person are you?

That's actually the cost without the brown envelops.

Is it a question of Rohingya expulsion or the general strength of psychological backbone of BAL leadership? Issue is not Rohingya, the issue is MM forced its will on BD.

Perhaps, you never heard our BDR had repulsed Burmese overture to build embankment in the Naf river in 2001. MM military brass know all along the weak psychology of Hasina and the BAL non-leadership. That is why MM dared to unleash terror and expelled Rohingya.

MM could not have done nasty things to Rohingya had General Moin been holding the state power. He would have carved out Arakan land near Sittwe for Rohingyas. During his time he forced MM navy to withdraw from the BoB in 2008.

I don't know maybe hasina wants to be seen as mother giving shelter, Nobel prize humanitarian award on her mind.
Or may be India would have pressured bd to withdraw, the west dying to get mm out of Chinas grip. Especially with indo/U.S/west china containment strategy. If bd acted this would made mm go full Chinese, the west would have disaproved of bd actions .

Tbh the Rohingya issue is absolutely different from 2008 naval standoff and other conflicts. China, Russia, India and others are directly involved with the Rohingya genocide. Do you think Khaleda or General Moeen has the guts to talk against China and Russia? LoL.

The Rohingya issue is a masterplan of China as per their road and belt initiative and Arakan is part of China's belt and road initiative.

So, you mean China, Russia, USA all will attack BD if BD opposes MM. Even if it is true, BD should stand erect. Only a strong nation has the right to survive. Resources of a country do not lie underground. It is the motivation of a country's leadership and people that makes it great. Leadership was weak therefore MM was able to do what it did with Rohingyas.

A kowtowing country such as the crying baby BD should cease to exist. I wish people cowards like you just get off from Bangladesh. Leaders like Khaleda and Moin are needed in BD.

Khaleda :omghaha: is the same as Hasina.

Just different masters.

You are right about Khaleda but she stood strong in the face of MM when the latter started to build an embankment in the south bank of Naaf Dariya. There was fighting which was not covered by international press. General Fazlur Rahman claimed 600 MM troops were killed in the encounter. MM finally backed down from the embankment project. Before that Khaleda contacted Muslim countries to get support. SA Crown Prince Abdullah (Later King) came. He went straight to Cox's Bazar and declared his country's intention of helping BD. Even PA troops gathered in Karachi in case BD requests for help irrespective of 1971.

In comparison Hasina did nothing and because of kowtowing and General Aziz receiving gifts of expensive jades fro MM when he unexpectedly visited there. The result was MM claiming St. Martin belongs to it. Their maps showed it that way. All because of kow towing by the weak BD leadership.

You mentioned Khaleda.

I am not very familiar with Bangladeshi politics but how do you reconcile the fact she axed the completion of the Mig-29 deal and tried to sell them off.

Also similar case with the naming and deactivation of BNS Bangabundhu.

Both seem to be not conducive to strong national defence irrespective of the politics.
