Any threat to Pakistan’s integrity is unacceptable: Saudi King assures COAS
November 04, 2015, 7:41 pm

RIYADH: Saudi King Prince Salman assured Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday that any threat to Pakistan’s integrity would be unacceptable.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Raheel, who is on a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), met with King Salman, the crown prince, as well as the Saudi defence minister on Wednesday.

The Saudi rulers said they held Pakistan and the Pakistan Army in high esteem, and the KSA supports peace and stability in the country. They also appreciated the achievements of Pakistan Army in its offensive against militants in Fata, operation Zarb-e-Azb.

“The COAS appreciated the growing counter-terrosim cooperation, intelligence sharing, limiting [the] space of terrorists and extremists in all domains, including choking [the] flow of funding,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, General Raheel reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the safety and protection of Haramain Sharifain, and the territorial integrity of the Saudi Kingdom.

Along with discussing matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence and security cooperation between the two countries, the dignitaries acknowledged Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were significant players in regional stability with important responsibility towards the Muslim Ummah.
“Pakistan and KSA share great history of cordial relations, deep spirit of brotherhood which is transforming into an enduring partnership,” read the statement.

Chief is part of the same gov.

Defense policies are pushed by chief (and so far he is better than his predecessors)

Non defense stuff handled by PM (and so far he is better than his predecessors)

You're gonna get alots of flames for that!

Ironically, when each of the countries were attacked in the past. No partners came to each others aid.

Well you are free to bash any country as per wish but this is poor in taste as thousands of Pakistani soldiers also got martyred in fighting TTP.

Pakistan don't have same equipment saudi regime army. Furthermore, a whole batch of their elite paratroopers getting wiped out in a spec ops in a meaningless war to install a stooge lol.
Watch houthi vids against saudi army....too painful to watch...most of the time they leave their vehicles and run as if they are in olympics. I can't upload the vid of the pile of special soldier forces (too graphic). Now sudanese and columbians come to save the war.

In my opinion we should look at this through a more broader perspective rather than just Saudi vs. Iran or Shia vs. Sunni thing. Unfortunately most of the people I know (including quite a lot of members here) start their day with Sunni/Shia-Saudi/Iran thing and end their day on the same 1980's note. Stuck in the past with their shallowness.

Firstly this is an excellent and a vital statement by current leader of KSA in favour of Pakistan. Secondly (in terms of integrity) I suppose LeJ and ASWJ types are either about to be reigned in or perhaps eliminated altogether? It's a possibility according to me (and I might be wrong). Thirdly, may be the statement is meant vis-a-vis Pakistan's external threat (India)...i.e. KSA (and GCC) will diplomatically support Pakistan on the international arena against India.

Let's see though.

With the recent Indian charm offensive, Russo-Pak SU35 deal no longer seems to be realistic.

Saudis are going to fund the Typhoon procurement by Pakistan.

COAS is in Saudi and PAF Chief is in UK flying Typhoon.

Saudi and UAE soldiers are doing great job in Yemen. This is about something else.

SU-35 deal is far more realistic than Eurofighter.

With Russia & France, India has many options to raise the purchases to influence the potential deals with Pakistan. It's not the case with UK-Germany. More over Saudis also use the same fighter which gives lot of opportunities from training to support. US would also be more happier if Pakistan opts for Typhoon instead of SU35s.

Russia knows you are not in much position to threaten or stop their deals with Pakistan. Only thing raising some questions is Air Chief flying Euro Fighter.
