What's your diet , we advice fluids followed by semi-solid for atleast a week
Just add syp cremaffin 1tsf bd .
Start moving . Not to worry , its more than a week .
If surgery is Lap assisted we advice mobilization and discharge in 24 hrs . Even in open surgery 1 week is good enough .
Keep the surgical wound clean - ensure no SSI .

just to add for precaution , avoid drinks if you are planning to use Flagyl as adviced by doc above .

Here is the cure for "moronics"

Run head first into a wall....make sure your eyes are closed. If you still didnt manage to die....jump off a cliff. There's your cure. :) Hope it helps. I think i can go for a whole phd with that diagnosis.

By far the best response. Lol...

Hey guys, this is a cool thread indeed. Never knew that here on PDF there were so many unfortunate people just like me!;)

As gubbi and CS mentioned, I'm a Paeds resident (JR-3 to be precise). I'm hoping for a super specialisation in Neonatology.

yeah i know..quality wise his posts are pretty interesting to read and i dont know, how he spares that much time for writing all that? its kinda hard...

Fast typing is the key, mate!

On a serious note, it would have been impossible during my year as a H.O. but things get easier as you become JR 2 and 3.

Have you noticed how many of us get married as JR 2? Would it have been possible without some substantial free time?;)

Also, currently I'm posted in the NICU where I can attach my 3g device to the central comp and post in between tasks.

congrats ..
I got washed out in aipgme..Hope to get in state pg or comedk..
Nice to see many crazy docs like me..

All the best for the remaining two.

Remember "Darr ke aage jeet hai"!

Keep up the hard work irrespective of results and you will surely succeed. Yours truly got washed up twice (and pretty thoroughly, I must add) before striking !

Don't you get freaked out by the little fishy things in all the incubators? Their skin is crumpled and red and blue, and they can barely open rtheir eyes.

Lil ones freak me out. They look so fragile, you can't even hold them right.

On the contrary, the little ones being so vulnurable and fragile; they fill you with a sense of responsibility and protectivness.

By the time we are finished with our job, those tiny neos start looking like this.......

Though, I absolutely hate taking blood samples from neonates as it is much more painful for them.

That explains you nick here! A pathologist is indeed a "silent observer"! (But his observations do carry a lot of weight.)

you are right about the nick. i usually just read the threads and posts by our members but for the last 10 months or so, i was not visiting the PDF due to me busy schedule for writing my paper and defense of my thesis. Now since i have finished my PhD, defended my thesis successfully and published my work as well, i am back on pak defense forum.

It must be gas most probably. Antacids will help.
