Someone close to me had contracted a superbug in one of India's best hospital. Various culture tests showed that is was resistant to all antibiotics except Colistin. Bacteria have not developed resistance to Colistin because it was all but discarded in the 1950s. India is the only country where it is made.

I also found out that while Western researchers were working on antibiotics, Soviets were working on something called phage therapy - as more and more bacteria become resistant, perhaps it will have to go mainstream.
