Only the systems that have separate transmitting and recieving antennas or "bi-static" radar could detect a stealth aircraft. The circuitry is so complex the the design of the logic still can not be designed!
When the F-117 was introduced, USAF spokes people said Lockeed had studied the problem and "bi-static" radar is required to detect and lock-on to the stealth aircraft.
A bi-static radar is one that transmits (say around) 2,000 separate frequencies with each pulse. Not only the technical problems involved in transmitting so many different frequencies at one time but even more on the receiving end is far more complicated. Some frequencies will only travel in a straight line, others reflect off different layers of the atmosphere. Sorting out which frequencies do what and how long the signal was in the air and, obtaining the return signal from all the background noise is a problem far beyond today's technology.
This way at least one frequency will bounce off the stealth and go back to the radar but detecting that one return will be difficult out of the two thousand returning frequencies.
A stealth aircraft can be detected by a frequency at a specific range, aspect angle, altitude, etc. If the stealth aircraft moves one meter, that frequency will not work for detecting that stealth aircraft but, some other frequency will! The problem is there is no way of telling what that paticular frequency is. That is why so many frequencies would be required for such a system in order to track and lock-up the stealth aircraft.
A good deal of the expense of designing a stealth aircraft is to test it against all known radars, determine which frequencies will detect the stealth aircraft at what distance, aspect angle, altitude, etc. Find some way to minimize detection even more and find tactics and parameters so the stealth aircraft can fly into combat with confidence it can not be locked-onto.

Even when such a system is available, radar jamming and "nap of the earth" flying will still work for the stealth aircraft.
When stealth aircraft are detectible, non-stealth aircraft will be detected as though they have ID beacons on them.

stealth is over rated . dont forget that a DIY botcb job modification in a radar brought down f-117.

.
Even L-band radars can detect stealth aircrafts, but L-band radars are not accurate enough to identify the target or guide any missile towards the target.

.
But where did u get this knowledge that bi-static radar can detect the stealth planes....????...........:woot:

Mostly true...That bi-static radars are 'stealth' aircrafts' greatest threats.

The rest of your post about bi-static radars are filled with too much errors.

Here we go with that nonsense again...

All freqs can detect 'stealth' aircrafts. The issue is distance where that detection is valid enough.

there is no invisibility cloak? or there is?
and was the f 117 not shot down?

.
The F-117 was shot down partly because it was exposed by the radar's low frequency range and partly because it had no Missile Warning System. The USAF had not considered that it could be detected at all.

While stealth does not make an aircraft either invisible or invincible, it is folly to underestimate it.

Stealth doesn't mean undetectable...it means shorter detection range and difficulty locking weapons. Kinda like a camo uniform doesn't make you invisible.

Americas next bomber, which is slated for 2018 is said to be the size of 1/10 of a mosquito. Try to distinguish a bomber and trillions of insects in your airspace ;)

Give this subject a rest, preferably permanently. We know exactly the F-117's vulnerabilities but that does not mean 'stealth' aircrafts cannot serve their purposes. All of you do not know what the hell you are talking about.

And would you care explaining?we know that you knw a lot on the subject.
why so aggressive? missed your prozac today? ;)

the subject has been discussed at length so many times on this forum that it gets old.

ok fair enough.
are you aware of an existing radar system that can detect stealth planes? and how it works?

Most all radar can detect stealth aircraft...the same way they detect them ALL. Just not at such long ranges.
