What any of us can do is relative. You'll go back to a valuable job within your community. You save lives and you need to do that as well as possible. I know you do for which I'm grateful.
I'll write my President, senators, and congressmen/women as best I can. Beyond that, nada.
I've a friend, though, 32, in great shape, and finishing EMT school now at Cal-Riverside who's turned down a commission in our medical corps to enlist as an airborne infantryman and request the Hindu Kush.
If he has his way, he'll soon be in the Korengal. He lives on the beach in L.A., his parents are rich, and he just married a beautiful Harvard-grad schoolteacher last summer.
No reason under the sun but he's doing what he can as he calls this the defining war of his generation and one for which he cannot stay on the sidelines.
