‘Anti-National’ JNU Wins Visitor’s Award for ‘Best University’

Jawaharlal Nehru University, which was at the heart of major protests and controversy last February, has won an award for being the ‘best university’.

The awards have been instituted by the President of India – who has been deemed ‘Visitor of Central Universities’ – to “promote healthy competition amongst Central Universities and motivate them to adopt best practices from around the world in pursuit of excellence.”

President Pranab Mukherjee announced on his official Twitter page that the University had been bestowed the award.

The award ceremony will be held at Rashtrapati Bhawan on 6 March. Last year too, JNU was awarded two of the three Visitor’s Awards.

faculty of social science is one which makes most news and produces Kanhaiya, umer khalid, sitaram yeturi class leaders. none of them could even win ward elections on its own.

Best educational institutions throughout history and throughout the entire world tend to be those places that intellectuals and free thinkers gather, Not sheep

Places like that are where revolutions were enacted, I think JNU is a place that challenges the status quo, Hence the adverse reaction to it by the system and those that blindly follow the system

This is what indicates that India in on right path. Even though these universities pick up subjects which are against the popular beliefs, these universities are honored with best universities. This is openness of Indian masses that they are open to go to extremes to have a solution of something, even if they result in mass agitation. All are within the framework of constitution.

On my personal opinion, JNU needs overhaul a big time... These educational institutes are following marxist policies since long. Time for a relook at the direction where these institutes are going.

No, he is not a puppet of congress.

the whole presstitute media and the saffronists were baying for JNU blood, then nobody had the knowledge that it composed of different departments. i remember, even the parents who sent their wards to JNU were taunted upon (guess who ).
regarding puppeteery, mr. mukherjee was a puppet (but not the fav one, as he was a huge block in front of the prince charming) untill he was stuffed with presidency to clear the path for rahul baba.
