The Occupy Movement is a decentralised and self-funded movement though in 2011 it was suggested in American mainstream media that Russia, China and Muammar Gaddafi had been supporting the movement.

How many protests have you taken part in in India?
One. In late 2015, if I remember correctly.
Organised by various progressive groups including the CPI-M, in memory of a student scholar, Rohith Vemula, who had committed suicide because of harassment by the Right-leaning officials of his institution - The University of Hyderabad.
The protest was held at the townhall and I had mainly gone there to meet the city secretary of the CPI-M which I had thought of joining then.

I partially agree with you.
There are three aspect to every society - Social, Political, Economic.
What would work best for the Economics will be a mix of welfare state ( free basic services ) plus a "Social Credits" system that China has been experimenting with.

In South Asia we share many wrong elements in our social and economic aspects. We should rise up to being progressive humans instead of fixing ourselves into labels such as Indian, Pakistani, middle class etc.
