Anti-access/Area denial: YJ-62A anti-ship missile

What is its effective range and how is it different to the C-602 coastal defence system.
The C-602, also known as YJ-62, is a Chinese subsonic anti-ship missile that can also be used as a land attack cruise missile.
Specification:

  • Length: 6.1 metres (20 ft)
  • Diameter: 0.54 metres (1 ft 9 in)
  • Weight: 1.24 tonnes (1.22 long tons; 1.37 short tons) (including the 110 kilograms (240 lb) booster)
  • Warhead: 300 kilograms (660 lb)
  • Minimum speed: Mach 0.6
  • Maximum speed: Mach 0.9+
  • Cruising altitude over sea: 7–10 metres (23–33 ft)
  • Cruising altitude over ground: 30 metres (98 ft)
  • Maximum range: > 400 kilometres (250 mi), 280 kilometres (170 mi) for export version[1]
  • Minimum range: 40 to 60 kilometres (25 to 37 mi), depending on the type and size of the target
  • Engine: turbojet with solid rocket booster
  • Guidance: inertial + active radar
  • Maximum target speed: 30 knots (56 km/h; 35 mph)
  • Developer: China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation

Not easily

Though tt cant be easily to be shot down, but relatively easier compared to supersonic YJ-12.
YJ-18 is also subsonic, but supersonic at terminal stage and can do great maneuver. I think both YJ-12 and YJ-18 deserve this "anti access" title.

Thats a matter of opinion. Combined with stealth technology and radar avoidance, it doesn't need to do great maneuver even though it can.

As you can see what it can do at time index 1:42.

CIWS still can handle the stealth subsonic asm at closer range.

xhw1986 is right. Just because its subsonic does not mean it can be easily shot down. The new missile LRASM makes it pretty much almost impossible to be shot down. Don't even need that many missiles to hit a battlegroup.

Here is an example.

may be it sounds like a silly question , but can you answer me that in the video you post i saw at a stage the missile start taking its navigation from satellite , but what if satellite navigation breaks by any reason ? is there any self navigator or process to save the route for its target ? and can satellite jammers can be effective ?

Unlike current anti-ship missiles the LRASM will be capable of conducting autonomous targeting, relying on on-board targeting systems to independently acquire the target without the presence of prior, precision intelligence, or supporting services like Global Positioning Satellite navigation and data-links. These capabilities will enable positive target identification, precision engagement of moving ships and establishing of initial target cueing in extremely hostile environment. The missile will be designed with advanced counter-countermeasures to effectively evade hostile active defense systems.[5]

On November 12, 2013, an LRASM scored a direct hit on a moving naval target on its second flight test. A B-1B bomber launched the missile, which navigated using planned waypoints that it received in-flight before transitioning to autonomous guidance. It used onboard sensors to select the target, descend in altitude, and successfully impact

It be too late.

On August 27, 2013, Lockheed conducted the first flight test of the LRASM, launched from a B-1.[14] Halfway to its target, the missile switched from following a pre-planned route to autonomous guidance. It autonomously detected its moving target, a 260 ft unmanned ship out of three in the target area, and hit it in the desired location with an inert warhead. The purpose of the test was to stress the sensor suite, which detected all the targets and only engaged the one it was told to. Two more flight tests are planned this year, involving different altitudes, ranges, and geometries in the target area. Two launches from vertical launch systems are planned for summer 2014.[15] The missile had a sensor designed by BAE Systems. The sensor is designed to enable targeted attacks within a group of enemy ships protected by sophisticated air defense systems. It autonomously located and targeted the moving surface ship. The sensor uses advanced electronic technologies to detect targets within a complex signal environment, and then calculates precise target locations for the missile control unit.

The question is : how stealth is yj-62a?

Especially if the missile is using its own radar guidance, the enemy can detect and activate the defence system including CIWS, decoy, etc.

On February 25, 1991, during the first Gulf War, the Phalanx-equipped USS Jarrett (FFG-33) was a few miles from the USS Missouri (BB-63) and the destroyer HMS Gloucester (D96). The ships were attacked by an Iraqi Silkworm missile (often referred to as the Seersucker), at which Missouri fired its SRBOC chaff. The Phalanx system on Jarrett, operating in the automatic target-acquisition mode, fixed upon Missouri's chaff, releasing a burst of rounds. From this burst, four rounds hit Missouri which was two to three miles (about 5 km) from Jarrett at the time. There were no injuries.[6] A Sea Dart missile was then launched from HMS Gloucester, which destroyed the Iraqi missile, achieving the first successful engagement of a missile by a missile during combat at sea.
