I would say only democratic system can save Muslim nations. Once they start using force to solve their dispute instead of discussion, power sharing, and ballot it is the start of their fall. Some Muslim still dont get lesson from the event happening during Ali bin Abi Thalib rule where Muslim were divided and use force to solve their dispute.
I would say stability should come before democracy. Once the country is stable enough, then political reform should follow. Besides, the sahaba (companions of the Prophet (Pbuh)) were better people than us. They have more religious knowledge, decency, and intellect than us.
With respect to the topic at hand, one thing is coming out in all of the conflicts in the Middle East, including Yemen: The opposition forces don't need fighter jets, tanks, and huge naval forces; they just need to learn on how to build guided anti-armor, anti-tank weapons; ballistic and cruise missiles; and drones armed with weapons. These combinations are keeping more powerful adversaries at bay or at least prolonging the conflict to the point where the powerful countries, who are at war with these groups, would feel the pain of the war, its population would turn against the war, and at the end their militaries/people may eventually stage coups if their governments don't change course.
Houthis, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, and Afghan Taliban are clear examples of armed groups taking on more powerful adversaries and inflicting enough casualties while prolonging the war. Just look at the US today: The Trump administration is negotiating with the Afghan Taliban in order to withdraw their forces. This is the same Taliban they refuse to talk to after the 9/11 attacks. So at the end, time is on the side of the lesser armed and less equipped opponents. And at some point, Saudi Arabia will have to negotiate with the Houthis, and the Houthis themselves will have to accommodate Saudi concerns in terms of stability on their borders. This is the only way to end these wars.
