KARACHI:
Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh chapter chief Senator Shahi Syed on Sunday said that ANP has no competition with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and it should not be compared with the latter.

“We are the followers of Ahmed Shah Abdali and our goal is to carry on the non-violence philosophy of Bacha Khan, so we should not be compared with an outfit like MQM.”

He was speaking at a rally of ANP Sindh at the KPT ground Keamari. The rally was organised by ANP Keamari chapter activists who had recently joined the party after leaving the Pakistan Peoples Party.

Hundreds of Pashtuns carrying red flags came to Keamari to attend the rally. Shahi Syed’s convoy was welcomed with Pashtun music and flower petals, when it entered the ground.

Syed in his speech repeatedly stressed on the need of education for the Pashtuns of Karachi, “get your children educated, we don’t want to see our children carrying guns and suicide jackets.”

He reminded that Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan popularly known as Bacha Khan faced the British with the polity of non-violence, when others were holding swords and guns. “If anyone opts for gun, it will be violation of Bacha Khan’s philosophy.”

He appealed to the Pashtuns not to settle their tribal vendettas in Karachi. “We are already blamed that every Talib is a Pashtun. Don’t settle your family feuds in Karachi, as this city is vital for the economic survival and stability of the Pushtuns, so keep it peaceful.”

He lashed out at the Taliban for affecting 25 million people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. “Forty thousand of our women gave birth in camps due to you people (Taliban). You should be ashamed of yourself and your acts, which you are doing in the name of religion,” said Syed, when he switched to Pashto on the demand of the crowd.

Speaking about ANP and PPP coalition, Syed said that they will remain PPP’s partners, but the PPP should treat ANP like they treat MQM, “we have supported PPP unconditionally and we will do so in the future but they should think that if they can visit Nine Zero day and night, they should also visit Mardan House, which is a centre of Karachi’s Pashtuns.”

ANP should not be compared with MQM: Shahi Syed – The Express Tribune

I am not a fan of ANP AT ALL!!! but finally they are speaking sensibly! Finally Peace might com to Karachi!

.
Everyone speaks sensibly, what they do is what counts. MQM says the same things, so does PPP. Oh wait, they all kill each other in the end, don't they?

^
Point is MQM doesn't follow up on that. Neither does ANP, they're just idiotic racists

Sadly, this topi drama is just to be on the news, the reality remains the same. Until AH dies, MQM will never prosper. As for ANP, I can't see it getting better even if someone died. OH well, good we have Imran

KARACHI: Newly elected Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said that he asked Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief and spiritual leader of Hurr community, Pir Pagara Sibghatullah Rashdi, to pray on his behalf that he achieves big goals in his “little tenure”, Express News reported.

Speaking outside Kingri House after meeting with Pir Pagara, Ashraf said, “I hope to do something that solves the problems of the people of Pakistan.”

Ashraf also thanked Pir Pagara for the “delicious food” he offered him during the meeting.

“PML-F, as our coalition partner, played a very positive and strong role in my election as the prime minister, for which I have come to thank Pir Pagara on behalf of my party’s co-chairman President Asif Ali Zardari.”

The prime minister said that Pir Pagara prayed for them and was very hospitable towards him and his party.

“Our motive is – love for all hatred for none,” said Ashraf. “With the help of our coalition partners and with the vision of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and President Zardari, we would like to take Pakistan towards progression.”

He said that the two big challenges faced by his government were energy crisis and security situation, particularly in Karachi. “We are striving to bring peace to Karachi which is the economic hub of Pakistan.”

Responding to a question regarding the Opposition’s resistance in his election, he said, “I am here till the party has confidence in me and till God wills so. Nobody elects themselves as a prime minister. This is all God-willing. He can provide to anyone, anytime.”

Prime minister visits Nine Zero

Ashraf, accompanied by the chief minister and governor of Sindh, later arrived at Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters, Nine Zero. He is the second PPP prime minister to do so.

During the meeting, Dr Farooq Sattar said that early elections should be held if “we [PPP and MQM] believe in democracy.”

Express News reports that as per MQM tradition, the prime minister will be served haleem and falooda. Special biryani will also be served.

Shahi Syed refuses to meet Raja Pervaiz Ashraf
KARACHI: Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh chapter chief Senator Shahi Syed has refused to meet newly-elected Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf during his visit to Karachi, Express News reported on Monday.

Syed has stated that he does not believe in “exhibitory meetings.”

The ANP spokesperson told Express News that Shahi Syed had been called to the Governor House to meet Ashraf, adding that the ANP is a coalition partner of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and they should meet like partners.

Ashraf is also expected to meet Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders at the party’s headquarters, Nine Zero, today.

Both ANP and MQM are coalition partners of PPP in the Sindh and federal governments.

Shahi Syed had earlier demanded that the PPP should treat ANP like they treat MQM.

“We have supported PPP unconditionally and we will do so in the future but they should think that if they can visit Nine Zero day and night, they should also visit Mardan House, which is a centre of Karachi’s Pashtuns,” Syed had said.

.
this is a nice development ANP is not happy with PPP for not treating them equally as MQM & never visiting Mardan house! i guess a crack is developing in the allies finally which is good for the common Pakistani!

.
ANP and MQM = Two sides of the same coin. The only difference is that ANP is mostly Jahil stuff where as MQM has educated members.
