Another Indian Army Soldier Commits Suicide

Patton:
In war, its not the job of soldier to die and become a martyr for his country, but to make sure the other b*stard dies for his :D

:D True Indeed! Well back to the topic... yeah maybe the army should leave Kashmir and treat minorities as equal citizens, then probably soldiers will stop committing suicide to stress or fear!;)

.
dimension,

The only solution for Kashmir is. Talks, and the talks with conclusion.

That is a cute statement of Patton, but stoic cannot be abandoned for merely brains!

Should I say, "Been there, done that?"

I am no Hercules or Samson. I have faced the same rigours as these soldier/ paramilitary has faced. I have gone into CASOs. I have done what they do. I have never felt the urge to commit suicide. My men have not committed suicide and we were in CI and then in active combat.

The majority of my career has been Kashmir in all its avatars!

So why the hell should these blokes commit suicide in a CI environment and who have not even seen the reality of life?

I require no education on modern warfare!

Softies and poorly motivated will remain softies and poorly motivated, modern or archaic warfare!

My point exactly. The standards of recruitment are falling imo. The suicides indicate poor leadership and quality of officers.
Salim..you know better than any of us that an officer is more than anything else, a leader of his men. He has to handle his jawans with skill to keep them battle-worthy.

I wonder what the other side would think! I see them as oppressed, mistreated, and bullied.

Opressed? Sheesh. Kashmiris are anything but opressed. They were given democracy with autonomy. On top of that they have the advantage of being part of a major country with considerable resources. Any sane person would realize that they have the deal of a lifetime.

The vast majority of bombings and attacks are carried out by militants trained in Pakistan. There is very little point talking to them. They come here to kill or be killed. So they get killed.

. . .
Not, if you followed the event.

Aren't the hardliners oppressed, since they are not being allowed to follow their traditional customs of hardline islamic law? Why are they being oppressed with democracy and military rule?
Isn't the Pakistani army discriminating by killing these people on the basis of religious ideology?

P.S...not my views....just a new viewpoint to consider.

reopened!............

Why delete my post?

What's so objectionable?

If something is wrong tell me and I will correct it.

Right now, it appears that I am some sort of a flamer!

In fact, I have gone out of my way to be correct.
