Another Gold for the Pakistan Army in Cambrianpatrol 2017

This makes me laugh ... they get special training in making diagrams ... and Pakistan/India sends it cream of crop in these competitions ... Europeans and American Australian Chinese all send their regular army units. I asked a British millitary officer about why Brits loose in Cambrian excercise to third world armies. He told me cause they grab regular mill joes from barracks and send them. They do this cause it motivates entire Army to keep fit in case they have to represent their country. He said countries like Pakistan, India, pool their best talent and give them more training and send them to compete which means regular army units don't get any benefit ... cause they have no incentive to train harder ... they already know they cant make to elite level so they don't try. I was aaah ... He put it ... its like sending SAS against ISIS rag heads and saying SAS is the best in the world cause they beat ISIS clowns. This success will not even translate into better war fighting. Its like WUSHU competition. People do maddest skills, and super fast weapon dodges and flips and cart wheels and stuff ... but in full contact fight ... they get punked.

So thats there key of failure in cricket world cup they never sent there beat team who can win first world cup for them.. lol

STANDARDS 8.
The level of award will depend on the patrol completing all aspects of the exercise, in particular the mission phase. Awards are:

• a. Gold: 75% or more of the points available.
• b. Silver: 65-74% of the points available.
• c. Bronze: 55-64% of the points available.
• d. Certificate: Completed the exercise in the time allowed and scored less than 55% of the points available.2 9. Certificates are awarded to all those that complete the Cambrian Patrol.

However, patrols or individuals who withdraw will not be awarded a certificate and any patrols that fall below 5 members will be withdrawn for safety reasons.
No patrol will be released from the exercise until completion of the awards ceremony on D + 2 of each phase.

The exercise is held in Wales and is delivered by HQ 160 Infantry Brigade on behalf of CLF. Cambrian Patrol is arduous and concentrates on leadership, teamwork, physical fitness and achieving the mission.


The Cambrian Patrol is an exercise and not a competition. It is conducted for the benefit of units and there is no final order of merit. The exercise is designed to be within the capability of any well-led and well-trained patrol from any Arm or Service. The exercise is the same for Regular and Reserve Forces and also draws participants from foreign countries.

What I don't get is why the local media doesn't bother with shots of Pak Fauj on the field during this excercise. I can find soldiers from Belgium, Australia.....Philippines.

Not to sound like a whiner but are they simply underestimating the capability of the Pakistani contingent?

Nice try.
We did not participate in the Cambrian Patrol this year since MoD made our participation in exercise bi annual.
Otherwise between 2011-2016 while we did not participate in one year (2012 or 13), in the other years we won 3 gold medals and 1 silver.

We are talking about the last three consecutive years in which PA won the gold medals and did the hatric and since only one team/patrol can win so India didn't win in the last three years and thus your army was not allowed to participate as it will be a painful experience for you guys to see Pakistan Army winning the gold medal.

We won gold medal in 2016 too whereas we also won gold medal in 2011 & 2014 when Pakistan failed to win gold.

We did not participate in 2017 & 2012 but we participated in 2016, 2011 & 2014 Cambrian Patrols and won gold medals.
