As you stated international cricket events, we don't play each other bilaterally. Also if I'm not wrong initially Visas were not being issued in the said squash event too but probably due to pressure, requests or prospect of the tournament being shifted out of India they did. But that doesn't change a thing the said policy has been even acknowledged in public by authorities.

Dawn had an editorial today criticizing India over this decision and actually taking the position that these kinds of Indian antics reflect an Indian mentality that does not want peace in the region. The editorial, finally, criticized Indian actions without trying to be ‘neutral’ and dragging some obscure Pakistani act to make it ‘equal equal’

While one editorial by Dawn is not a sign of a long term shift, it is definitely heartening to see one of the bastions of liberal Pakistani media calling a spade a spade.

Still there are people willing to visit the country I personally knew of a British senior college lecturers who visited Pakistan to attend a conference in Lahore.

Oh so did a number of my extended family. Visited Nanakana-Sahib near Lahore.
My point was that these liberal university academic types preach a lot but practice very little.
