Please be careful when you comment on things like these, it maybe stupid in your view but Blasphemy law is a sole for a Islamic Nation otherwise there will be fitna's like ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani etc, everyday..

Muslim Ummah has a consensus on this law, Disrespecting Hazoor [S.A.W], it's punishment is DEATH.

I know these laws are being misused but it doesn't mean this law is "stupid".

I don't understand the reasoning behind such a law, it seems completely impractical in it's implementation. How do you prove someone insulted a religion, unless they went out of their way to do something crazy. Most of these cases are based on word of mouth, that is hardly fool proof evidence.
On a personal level, I dislike the mixing of state and religion, it doesn't really work. I feel religion should be kept within one's own life, no need to go around sticking it in everyone's face. Laws such as this politicize religion.

Some one throws a buisness card away and its kill him kill him.

The law is stupid as are the mobs that murder people on flimsy accusations as are the tin pot mullahs that egg the crowd on.

Solution is simple.

Anyone accusing another of blasphemy will suffer the punishment if the accused is found not guilty.

It doesn't work for rape, but for blasphemy, it will reduce the number of cases that people bring.

All in all, there's no need for a blasphemy law though. I'm sure Islam is bigger than what some insignificant mortal may say.

The things about blasphemy is that in the Qu'ran it's very clear that Muslims should just ignore the blasphemer and not sit with them. If the Hadiths contradict this, then they should be ignored. This makes sense to all?

People living in any country are bound to follow the law of the land..Blasphemy is illegal and punishable by death in Pakistan.People should know that if they want to live in Pakistan...
However the trial should be non biased and all evidence should be considered without sentimental influences..Only then such punishment will be justified...

the point is that if there is a law tht is used widely for setting political scores or persnal debts they are not worth it this law is so ambiguous that it doesnt serve the propose it was made for u are punishing innocent ppl and setting persnal scores i think this is a fitna with in it self

Well Pakistan is an Islamic state and no matter what we do,even if we stop practicing Islam...we wont be able to get rid of Islamic stamp on us..Better live up to it..

A person or a state with an ideology is better than someone with no ideology..The most succesful ststes of the world are those with ideology....Soviet Union,china and USA all have a well defined ideology...

The emphasis is on well defined ideology,not on the ideology itself.
Whatever unites people is important...No matter how good or bad it looks to the rest of the world.
Ours wobbles all the time.Started as country conceived purely on religion,then tug of war between those who say religion is backward and those who want to stick to the original ideology.

I had many chances of working with Soviet nationals..All had Soviet union and later Russia at their heart..Working for mother Russia,and for the sustainability of their system.The world may say they were brain washed,but the brain wash made them "One" from many..
What is our base? What is our reason to feel proud..if at all we feel proud? For who's greatness,or for what goal we can work together as "one"? Has anybody got the answer?
