'Annex part of Bangladesh' commented by a Former Indian cabinet minister

If the Indian people are so concerned about these 'hordes of illegal Bangladeshis' flocking into their paradise, where's their proof? No scholarly articles, nothing.

And since the current Bangladesh Government is pro-India, then why aren't they working on this issue? The only key interest India has is against ULFA militants hiding in Bangladesh territory.

And as far as the 71' refugees are concerned, why the GoI never worked on it? It's not the job of Bangladesh to tell other countries how to run their house.

So, where is the proposal to address the problem of refugees and the apparent 'hordes of illegals' from the Indian Government? Bangladesh has so far received no proposal.

If more than anything, it is the GoI that is to blame for the refugee issue. They can thank Indira and her ilks for the whole farce in the first place.

And if refugees were such a pain, then why smash Pakistan into two in the first place? Are those guys retarded? Or just plain reckless? Is India not a Democracy? All of which in this paragraph, you'd see Indians beating their chests with pride to degrade their Chinese and Pakistani counterparts here :lol:

I think the issue is Bangladeshi cattle smugglers hoping over the border to avoid taxes imposed by the GoB. Not illegal immigrants.

I thought we people here at the forum have better brains to undertand the situation and come up with sane behaviour.
Illegal imigration is a problem but instead of talking about to avoid lose of life over it, we are just fighting among overselves like mad cows.

I am specifically asking your countrymen for proof that there are indeed 20 million illegal Bangladeshis in India (which they have failed miserably), which by the way is 13% of Bangladesh's population.

NO. I do not want to see videos, or political lectures or Wikipedia or articles with political agendas.

I want actual scholarly proof of that '20 million' number. Why would hordes of Bangladeshis illegally immigrate to India? What for? Begging? People don't immigrate to other countries to beg.

And just how do they differentiate between a 71' war refugee and a an illegal immigrant?

its not possible to ask all illegal migrants to stand in a line and count to show proof to bangladeshi government.

Tell me one logical reason why someone would go to India (esp northeastern states) instead of middle east ? And you say they are begging over there, so this adds to my point, why would anyone go to some country to beg when he can get a job in the middle east?

^^ dude Bangladeshi illegal immigration is a major menace to India, It doesn't matter whether you accept it or not, It is India's problem and we curse our government into overlooking our states security concerns, it doesn't matter whether they come here to beg or to work, they are not welcome here and India has to get rid of them by force.

That is my question. People don't actually migrate to another country to beg, they migrate for a better life or earn money through work. Most of the Bangladeshis who go to the Middle East are unskilled workers. Even Malaysia has a healthy number of them.

Okay, there may be some isolated cases of illegal migrants (it happens everywhere). For instance, Pakistan embassy recently stopped issuing visas to Bangladeshis since they do not come back to Bangladesh.

But 20 million illegal Bangladeshis in India alone? Sounds really exaggerated. Like as if hordes of Bangladeshis throughout the past 40 years are dying to migrate to India.

The strong possibility is that many could be refugees from the 71' war. Which the GoI didn't take any measures against. All Indira did was fund the Shanti Bahini :rofl:
