Angry Pakistan threatens to derail Afghan endgame

Pakistan should attend but should clear its stance on everyone firmly.

Seriously this "New rules of engagement" agreement is a bogus thing to ask. Agreements can be BROKEN with the blink of an eye. Pakistan has to pull out of the war, completely and demand the US hand over the people for a trial in Pakistan.

Thats it.

LAHORE: Pakistan will boycott the Bonn Conference, scheduled for December 5 on Afghanistan’s future, to protest the cross-border NATO attack, an official said on Tuesday. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, in Lahore.
During the meeting held at the Governor House, Gilani suspended the agenda to discuss the November 26 incident which killed at least 24 Pakistani soldiers.
Gilani also said that he will summon a Joint Session of the Parliament on the NATO attack and the Memogate scandal on the recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security.
According to an official, the cabinet extended deepest condolences to the families of those who were killed in the cross-border attack.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar briefed the cabinet about the incident and the diplomatic efforts being made to highlight the violation of Pakistan’s territorial sovereignty.
The cabinet agreed that unaliteral action like the Abbottabad incident and the cross-border attack were unacceptable.

Outlandish demands only make the one demanding look foolish..

Not going to happen..Pakistan can not NOT attend a conference on Afghanistan where India is going to be present.. There will be some re-conciliatory and apologetic noises from USA along with promises, some hard statements from Pakistan and it will be back to normal pretty soon..

That may or may not be true, but Pakistan's political and military leadership does not have the will to call this bluff..

Lets wait and see what do they come up with. For now they have made their decision not to attend it.

Pakistan and America both need each-other....... I see them as close allies for atlease next 5 years!!

. . .
U.S. and Pakistan dont share the same interests in Afghanistan.

A continous American presence or a pro-american government (puppet) in Afghanistan would mean a continous Indian presence in Afghanistan, and as long as we have these enemies in Afghanistan they will always cause problems for Pakistan.

And also I strongly believe that NATO killed Pakistani soldiers because they sent terrorists across the Pak-Afghan border into Pakistan because NATO was not happy to see peace in Pakistan that we have these days.

I think there's a proxy war going on between the allies. NATO strikes on Pakistan soldier is probably because they were targeting some ISI members that they deemed a threat.

. .
We know India isn't one of them.

true... I second that... no point in playing games where an entire country can be pushed back to dark ages... you guys can have all the fun you want to have there ...we will just try to build roads hospitals and schools, rest of the countries can arm the militia.. run training camps.. and provide AK's and ammo..
