Police receive DNA report of PNS Mehran terrorists
Updated at: 1919 PST, Saturday, June 18, 2011
Police receive DNA report of PNS Mehran terrorists KARACHI: Police have received the DNA report of four terrorists killed during the attack on PNS Mehran, Geo News reported. The samples from the four terrorists do not match the DNA databank in Pakistan.

According to police officials, the DNA samples of the four terrorists were sent to Islamabad for testing. The officials added that these samples did not match the DNA databank in Pakistan.

According to sources, DNA cannot be used to determine the nationality of an individual. NADRA currently has a record of the registration of approximately 100 million people. In order to identify the terrorists, their pictures were taken using the most advance cameras along with their fingerprints. These did not match with the data maintained by NADRA.

They werent from Pakistan...May or may not be from India, but not Pakistanis.

They could be from the 70 millions or so Pakistanis who are NOT in the data bank.

Pakistan to seek international help as DNA tests come back negative
Published: June 18, 201

DNA tests on four terrorists who were killed during the May 22 attack on PNS Mehran have come back negative.

Results of DNA samples collected from the four terrorists who were killed during the raid on the naval base in Karachi, was matched up against a national database. However, authorities were unsuccessful in establishing the identity of the terrorists.

The DNA samples will now be sent to the International Data Bank for identification.

NADRA said that the tests would make it clear that attackers were not locals since their record could not be found. The government had subsequently based its claim that the attackers were foreigners on this report.

Analysts, however, say that the failure to establish the terrorists’ identity could be a result of NADRA’s imperfect database of Pakistani citizens.

At least ten people were killed and two Naval P3-C Orion surveillance aircraft were destroyed in the terrorist attack on the base.

Sparky if you read carefully anglo indian doesnt mean INDIAN :) anyway i have posted the news which only says samples did not match data with NADRA and since there are many people left unregistered so you can guess what could be the reason and if at all they were foreigners then surely be Uzebk, Tajik or Afghanistanis NOT Indians for sure

DNA test and Nationality? Who did the tests? Gen. Zaid Hamid?

Where it is mentioned that DNA revealed nationality? Please read the news carefully. Nationality from DNA

Our indian brothers tried well to establish nationality from DNA, one of them is PHD.

It maybe worth knowing that Anglo Indians were of mixed Indian Parentage to include Muslims and were all over undivided India.

They are now settled mostly in Australia and England. With some in the US and Canada.

Very few remain in India and they are mostly educationists working in Anglo Indian Schools.

No. You cannot.
DNA can only get you as far as race and family.

And that too if the DNA of a race/family member is present to compare with. Without that, it is nothing but a simple DNA.

Gender can be immediately verified though, with the XX or XY chromosomes - taken from the blood cells.
