Karachi, June 05: India’s most wanted gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s younger brother Anees was reportedly attacked by some unidentified men in Karachi late on Thursday.

According to the latest news report, dozens of bullets were fired at Anees Ibrahim, who is one of the most active members of the ‘D’ company, outside an al-Habib bank ATM in Karachi.

Although no confirmation was available yet, it is been suspected that the armed unidentified men belonging to a rival mafia gang based out of Balochistan.

The exact details of the incident are still awaited and there is no still confirmation about the condition of Anees Ibrahim.

Anees is also one of the prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai blast case and India has been seeking his extradition along with other members of the D gang.

Baluch leader, three others injured in parcel bomb explosion

A parcel bomb exploded in the house of BNP Awami MLA and Baluch leader Yaqoob Bizenjo on Friday injuring four persons. The bombs exploded in the drawing room of Yaqoob’s house in Karachi’s Khaydan area.

According to Pak media a parcel bomb was received by Yaqoob’s family which exploded when it was tried to open.

Yaqoob, along with three of his family members are reported to be injured in the explosion. The injured have been rushed to the hospital.

The pallets from the bomb tore through the walls and roofs of the room and even damaged the air conditioner in the room.

Speaking to the journalist Pak police officials said that the bomb to be of medium intensity. The sender of the parcel is still unknown though.

KARACHI: At least four people were injured when a blast occurred in a house in Karachi area of Defence, Geo News reported Friday.

The police sources said the blast occurred when a parcel was received there at the residence of MNA Yaqub Bizenjo of Balochistan.

Police have put security cordon around the bungalow in Khyaban-e-Rahat. The parcel bomb caused damage to the building.

SP Ashfaq Alam said the bomb was apparently wrapped in a parcel.

DIG South AD Khawja said the MNA Yaqub is also among the injured and has been shifted to Agha Khan Hospital.

The injured include the wife, son and brother of the MNA Yaqub. Two injured servants Sanaullah and Aziz have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

It should be mentioned that before the blast, at least seven parcel bomb blasts occurred in Karachi.

Yaqub Bizenjo belong to Balochistan National Party (Awami).

Anees Abraham, the younger brother of Dawood Ibrahim, has been reportedly injured in a shootout in Karachi in Pakistan.

However, no Indian agency was willing to confirmed that Anees was shot at in Karachi. Even as the news of Anees being shot broke out, Aaj Tak television channel claimed that Anees had spoken to their correspondent and claimed the news "was baseless and he was absolutely safe".

It was stated that Anees Ibrahim, along with his brother Dawood Ibrahim, one of the accused in the Mumbai [ Images ] serial blasts case, went to an ATM in Karachi late last night. As they were stepping out of the car, Bhatti gang members sprayed bullets, injuring Anees grievously. Reports said Dawood managed to escape with minor injuries.

The Bhatti faction and the D-Gang have always been at logger heads due to rivalry in drug trade.

The Bhatti faction, closely associated with the Chota Rajan gang, has been trying to gain control in Karachi, considered to be a strong hold of the D-Gang.

If the news gets confirmed, then it will be a double blow for the D-Gang. It was only two months ago that Dawood Ibrahim lost another brother, Noora.

Asked to comment on the incident, Intelligence Bureau officials said they would not confirm the same.

No the bottom line is, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Just look at how all the reports are shying away from confirming a single line of what they have published. Every report starts off with 'Unconfirmed reports'. Every report is citing the initial zee news report. We all know how credible zee news is! Add to that, there is no official confirmation from either sides. So lets wait till something concrete surfaces.

Not funny.They probably have informers inside intel agencies.Last time during BDR mutiny in dhaka they reported the DG of BDR was killed,and they turned out to be right.

To say every rich man pays him would be incorrect. But at some point of time in Mumbai, every rich man in Mumbai had to pay him money or leave. There are a few examples of rich Tamilians (Mudaliars) or Keralites (Goodknight Mohan) moving out of state to get away from Dawood. North Indians usually moved out of Mumbai and still kept a base in Pune (Tulsi Tanti etc.).

But after that time the rich people's list in India has changed drastically. The old world film financiers are no longer the richest. There has been a crop of newly rich people who came into wealth in the last 10 years.Similarly the list of Mumbai politicians have changed in the last 10 years. So, while there are still some people who owe him or still support him, he is hardly in the situation in the 80's when he could sit next to Anil Kapoor and watch India-Pak cricket match.
