An Era of Darkness: The British Empire in India’

Yeah, like mocking other people for not speaking your master's language well, please we Chinese as oldest continuous civilization, are proud of our own language and culture, we can achieve modernization and return to number one without being like you guys - adopting your masters tongue as a national language

Or like your elites busing taking bribes and sending money to British bank account, like sending children to school there, like busy buying real estate and immigrate there?

Save your stupidity for your own internal consumption

You are proud of British role in the century of humiliation especially the summer palace loot. After all if wasn't for British looting decades later these priceless artifacts could have been destroyed in the cultural revolution.

We Indians on the other hand are not comfortable with British colonial exploitation. Hence we write books like these.

So you be happy with British looting, while we are happy with writing books like these.

So both are happy in the end :D

Circular argument. More are you guys not capable of.

Indeed, he is cruel to the low caste Indians. No wonder you find that amusing.
Low caste? No. You are getting it wrong.

Regardless of caste, we are fighting a war on toilets.

Seriously. Are you German?

What is caste ? Is it something like Ubermensch & untermensch ? Striving for a Lebensraum ?
Wait for it. Patience.

Are u nuts? Where do I say we proud of British role? Then why do we call this period century of humiliation?

I am just saying you guys benefited a lot from British tremendously for conquering lands for you, for merging them together, for building railway infrastructures, for ' democracy' etc. and your hypocritical elites are busy taking bribes and immigrating there

Why are you lying? I have been to India and well to do Indians use toilets.

Look: http://indianexpress.com/article/in...r-cent-people-without-access-to-toilet-study/

Instead of making silly arguments, you ought file a complain against the people who made the study and the India Express for publishing the blasphemous article. :)

Yes, but why does it matter? Are you a racist?

They're the most "racist" country in the world for a reason, racism is in their blood thanks to their awesome "Caste system" and of course having a modified democratic system which is "Castocracy" will be like pouring oil to the already burning issue as well
My friend, may i remind you, according to my rich high caste white Indians from HK, most of the internet Hindus are low caste Indians (Dalits) working in those cheap call centers, its will definitely be very risky to interact with them on the long run:fie:

Afterall India should thank their British masters for grabbing so many princely states to be integral parts of Hindustan. And more importantly,Indians talk like British masters...

Pathetic, Brits are founder of current India. Without brits subcontinent would still be divided among several hundred princly states if not thousands ..

They did good things and they did bad things, but modern day Indian wouldn't have come about. It's possible that another ruler like Ashoka could have come about and united the warring lands, but the divisions and distrust ran too deep.

We are also thankful to the other member of the 8 nation alliance for liberating India from Qing rule:D

Prior to British advent, the subcontinent looked similar to current day map
With Maratha empire covering India and Sikh empire covering parts of modern day Pakistan.

The Sikhs would have lost their empire, the Afghans were banging on the door, and the local populations hated them. The Marathas, beyond their immediate sphere were no empire builders, and their military strategy was poor.

Now don't label me as an apologist for the British - but along with colonizing India (in the true negative sense), they also gave India,

  1. The world's largest rail network
  2. The world's most efficient post office network
  3. The advantage of learning English, the number one 'lingua franca' (what a misnomer) of the world, which is,
    • Allowing Indians to hurl insults at the Chinese and even the British themselves
    • Allowing Indians to make a living using backoffice skills (advantage over Chinese).

Afghans were still recovering from the losses in Panipat, which allowed Sikhs to go on a victory streak against the Afghans all the way till Kabul.

Maratha empire crumbled in second war with the British. Largely due to their failure of not consolidating their victory against the British in the first Anglo-Maratha war.
