the specs really are similer to the present al khalid except the engine power.
also if they wanted a below 50 tons tank.why nt then they increased the order of t-90.

Alkhalid is a 45 Ton Tank ,
so does it mean that every 45-50 Ton tank is Alkhalid , if so then there would be no difference between Alkhalid , T72 , T90
By the way there is one thing to make something urself quite another to make something under chinese license and boast it as ur own with a funny name
By the way T90 orders were increased coz we wanted o mentain a 4000 Tank fleet
1657 T 90 , that we are inducting are meant to replace 800 Vijayanta Tanks + 550 T55 Tanks + 400 T-72 Tanks
The reason why army is buying only 248 Arjun MK1 is becoz of its weight which is 58 tons
Earlier army requirement was for a tank of the size of Leopard II , but now it want something of the size of T90
