It is in Hasht-e-sobh which is a major one of the most respected Afghan dailies and Amrullah Saleh linked to it from his personal Twitter account.

If you go to the link he's listed as the author with his picture.

I couldn't explore much as the link showed an article in Urdu, it seemed strange that an agency chief would make such revealations. Apparently not as you point out.

Not to be disrespectful to Amrullah Saleh sab - but I think he didn't want to be outdone by Gen Durrani - more a case of mine is bigger than yours.

The stuff he said - barring some revelations was pretty much what was already expected - he just confirmed it.

Well, isn't that the job of intel agencies? Create mayhem and misery in neighboring countries? Pakistan is not lily white. They have done the same in Afghanistan and India. For example, bombing the Indian embassy in Afghanistan was the handiwork of...? Oh well, never mind.

Saleh is a great spy. He resigned because of soft stand of Hameed Karzai for Taliban. If he has reveal this, there must be some well calculated plan behind it.

If Saleh was smart he would have placated Pakistan - as the saying in Punjabi goes:
What can be won by love need not be won by war.

Saleh sab's problem is the problem of the Afghan nation I feel - tactically smart strategically foolish.

Afghanistan's recent history is riddled with a preference for the tactical over strategic.

So essentially you're agreeing with General Durrani said - he said ISI just does what other intelligence agencies do.

And, further no the job of intelligence agencies is not to cause mayhem and misery in neighboring countries - it is to provide intelligence and serve the interests of its country. How has causing mayhem and misery in Pakistan served Afghanistan. Afghanistan needs Pakistan - not the other way around.
