This will be the first bilateral dialogue between India and Bangladesh after the completion of general elections in the two countries.
New Delhi: Home minister Amit Shah is likely to raise the issue of illegal migrants with his Bangladeshi counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan on August 7, when the two leaders will meet in the national capital. India is keen to ink a deportation deal with the neighbouring country after about 40 lakh people have been left out of Assam’s National Register of Citizens.

Shah is likely to hold six rounds of parleys with Khan, ET has learnt. They would also discuss cross-border smuggling, fake Indian currency, Indian insurgent groups and Rohingya refugees, people aware of the matter said.

This will be the first bilateral dialogue between India and Bangladesh after the completion of general elections in the two countries. This will also be Shah’s first engagement with a foreign leader after taking charge as home minister.

The recent Easter bombings in Sri Lanka will also be discussed, keeping in mind the threat posed by global terrorist groups such as Islamic State and Al Qaeda. Shah will urge his Bangladeshi counterpart to take action against groups like Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, Bangladesh, which is suspected of having close links with Al Qaeda. The group was recently banned by the Union home ministry under UAPA for trying to recruit youths from the bordering states of West Bengal, Tripura and Assam on social media.

The two leaders will also be updated about the status of the integrated state-of-the-art Indian Visa Application Centre in Dhaka, which was inaugurated by former home minister Rajnath Singh during his visit to Dhaka last year.

India receives more than 10 lakh visitors from Bangladesh every year. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka and the two assistant high commissions in Chittagong and Rajshahi issue the highest number of Indian visas compared to any other mission.
Officials said the delegation level talks will also be attended by top internal security officials of India and Bangladesh. A foreign ministry official told ET that a review of enclaves exchanged between India and Bangladesh as part of the land boundary agreement was also on the cards.

Feku gang- Amit Shah and Modi are so stupit.

Bangladesh cannot even accommodate 1 million Rohingya Bangladeshis. What makes him think Bangladesh will accept 8 crores of its people which it has been sending since 1947 to 2019 non stop

. .
Did you drink so much cow ka cola recently?
Mr Kali billi from Bangladesh, why don't you stick to topic or you will go running to moderators like last time when I show your rightful place?

Does not your country have no shame? Sending it's population to India to make a living.

It’s the other way around. Hungry nude Indians are not ready to take care of its population instead playing communalism. No census data support such fantasy story.

Hungry Indians are immigrating illegally to Europe, Australia and North America not Bangladesh. We accept that.

Unlike you dishonorable people we don't deliberately push millions of poor into neighboring countries.

IDGAF if they are muslims or hindu (unfortunately our current govt does, i voted for it, i would vote again for them unless congress gets its house in order. but i abhor the citizenship amendment). Point is they are living illegally in India, whatever their religion or nationality may be, they have to be singled out. Deported or some of their facilities and fundamental rights taken away, as a deterrence against future illegal migrants.
If anyone wants to come in, get a passport, apply for a visa and live legally. They would be more than welcome.

First of all India has no such data or figure. It is just an estimate. If they are hindu they are welcomed in India by your politicians. So in 70s and 80s the trend continues but fell drastically after that. Now many Hindus are coming back to Bangladesh as economic condition is better.

Are you dumb or what? The image i posted quotes the census of 2011(and u cant say that BJP fudged the data as congress was in power). Also the findings of census are free for public on their website, you can read the entire report by yourself.
Census is not some sampling survey. It literally talks to each and every person living in India. All 1.3 bn Indians, even homeless and all the migrants as well.

I have already addressed my position on that in my post above. And i understand the counted point to that as well.
