KHAN RETAINS WBA TITLE

Amir Khan retained his WBA light-welterweight title with a thrilling points victory over Argentina's Marcos Maidana in Las Vegas.

Khan floored his opponent with a sickening body shot in the first round, but a willingness to stand and trade with the explosive Maidana left him in severe trouble on a number of occasions.

Despite appearing out on his feet after a punishing 10th round, the 24-year-old from Bolton displayed skill and composure to close out a 114-111, 114-111, 113-112 unanimous decision win.

Too bad he doesn't play for Pakistan.

;_;

because if he did, we'd have something to be really happy about.

but he doesn't.

.
he is 100% Pakistani Made - just uses british sticker passport can be trashed in garbage if need be

Thanks to him more chances will emerge for Pakistani Youth

I do hope that recent Wresting common wealth games champion from Pakistani decides to test waters in UFC with some enhanced training I see alot of lesser Wrestlers , training and becoming pro UFC fighters , I hope we see more Pakistani talent in UFC specially that do well in events like Common Wealth Games etc

Khan is not 100% Pakistani, He was born in Britain so he can be considered British Pakistani.

As far as the fight is concerned, it was an amazing fight.

It's okay. We have Hockey players, Women cricket team, Squash players and Tennis stars representing Pakistan anywhere from US open to Asian games. Yea we also have a cricket team too, which has repeatedly produced some of the finest players.

It's just we need our act together in sports.

Amir should be offered Pakistani citizenship though, so he can teach our younger players.

Its about opportunities - maybe if he would have been here in Pakistan , he might not have been able to be what he is today.

Hopefully it will inspire our authorities to do more for boxing infrastructure.

False.

Waqar Younis, Waseem Akram, Jahangir and Jansher Khan, Aisam ul Haq all made name for themselves from Pakistan.

It's about what you want to do and how to do. Once determined, you will get it.

Great victory, I hope to see him win again and again.

Despite whatever semantics, his victories do make everyone in Pakistan proud. The fact that he is British also has the added advantage that at least the British can't say our people go there and don't give anything back to the country.
