By contrast, regional rival China brought it down from 60% in 1990 to an impressive 16% in 2005 and just 12% in 2010.

India also accounted for the highest number of under-five deaths in the world in 2012, with 1.4 million children not reaching their fifth birthday.

“We don’t have to be proud of what we’ve done,” admitted minority affairs minister Najma Heptulla to the Times Of India on Wednesday. “Poverty is the biggest challenge.”

I thought many on this forum had said that "India has moved on from Pakistan, our core focus and competition is China"

Every day you come across these stupid articles that remind you how Pakistan focused India is and it appears all issues, concerns and issues are about Pakistan!!!

Who's the audience of these silly articles? To appease the elite Pandits sitting and making future plans for BJP and modifying Hindutva and the Vedas? Or the poor Indian people, who are being made believe that Pakistan is such a powerful country and can do anything so India needs protection from all evil as it does no evil to others and is a "peaceful democracy" with ONLY terrorism and violent ties to terrorists in Baluchistan, Afghanistan, Karachi, Sri Lanka, Nepal and a few other places???

Just for the record, there hasn't been the US aid given to Pakistan even 25% of what used to go. Pakistan is standing up on her feet without aid and through investments and increasing her tax revenue. People in Pakistan need to realize the purpose behind increasing tax base and should support their country, as the main idea is to never go on asking for aid again. Pakistan India knew if 2012 is different than Pakistan that India is dealing with in 2015!!!

That has zero importance for Pakistan. US still need Pakistan's help in Afghanistan.
