Amid Border Tensions With Pakistan, India Begins Using American Satellite Guided Artillery Shells

Aithough these rounds did not hit much by looks of things but our generals may have been found napping again. ...

They will have to up their game immediately

. .
Even these shells won't lessen Insecurity built into the DNA of Hindus in India ... always feel to be insecure is their destiny regardless of what type of weapon they bought or build.

That's exactly what I believe. They won't come to fight to you until they feel the superiority of 10 to 1, numerically or technologically.

What's on our side???
@Gryphon @Imran Khan

These expensive shells are unlikely to be expended by IA during LOC CFVs.

On PA side, both M198 & M109 are capable of firing guided shells, and IIRC Pakistan was at one time interested in 155mm Vulcano. However, the high price meant PA had to settle with unguided ammo for the foreseeable future.

155mm artillery ammo used by PA includes:
  • M107 (POF manufactured)
  • Nexter LU211 HB/BB
  • Poongsan K310 BB-DPICM
  • HE ERFB-BBRA (type / origin unknown, recently ordered)

i think we should protest with u.s on this as they not allow us to use f16 for offensive against india so it is clear injustice
No need. Just relax...let the forkers come.
Also with standoff weapons and glide bombs most of the forward bases are well within reach. Look at the videos of glide bombs on the 27/2/2019. We can knock on their door and say hi

One limiting factor for this American guided shells is cost . .

We need to make sure to lob 200 shells if 10 of these shells are fired till we come up with own solutions..

Make it too expensive to b used

I think Vulcano or something made by China will be considered. Vulcano looks very promising.

Amid Border Tensions With Pakistan, India Begins Using American Satellite Guided Artillery Shells

New Delhi (Sputnik): The 155mm satellite guided artillery rounds were ordered following the February 2019 military standoff and subsequent border skirmishes between the two nuclear-armed nations.

The Indian army has started to use long-range precision guided artillery ammunition, purchased under an emergency clause in India’s Defence Policy.

News about the deployment of the new M982 Excalibur artillery rounds - developed by Raytheon Missile Systems- was shared with army commanders at a high-level conference in New Delhi, local media reported.

Excalibur artillery rounds 155mm trajectory correctable munitions, also referred to as Course Correctable Fuze, that use GPS technology to accurately guide a shell to its target, facilitating co-ordination in using mid-course flight path correction.

The guided shells have been inducted in the army units guarding the Line of Control, a 435-mile line which marks where the Indian and Pakistani parts of Kashmir begin.

Traditionally tense Pakistani-Indian relations dipped to a new low in February after New Delhi blamed Islamabad for sponsoring terror attacks in Kashmir claimed by terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad. India carried out a retaliatory strike to destroy the group’s infrastructure.

The Kashmir issue dates back to 1947 when both countries became independent from Britain and both claimed the region as belonging to them.

Did Foreign Office and DGISPR approached the Americans about use of their weapons on civilians indiscriminately?

Cost of one M982 Excalibur is 68000 USD,that translates into 4,820,419.07INR,lala would never fire such costly ammo in these border skirmishes.Bharat isn't manufacturer of these shells, they probably ordered some 500 to 600 of these from US recently.
Yesterday they were bragging about destruction of terror launch pads using Arty guns.Today they just cooked this story to backup their nonsense claim.

I second on that.

I said it many times and I will say it one more time, You got to finish this once and for all or you can close your eyes and imagine this menace will die its own death...no it wont!!, you must cut the head of this snake. But our new stupid leader is worried about economy, he wants riyasat-e-medina without any sacrifice....good luck immy.

This is it! they can use american technology and no issues but others cannot use. Indians have mastered the art of slyness and diplomacy to pull the narrative to their side.

Yet Pakistanis continue to seek American arms and then act surprised when restrictions are put on them. India and US are strategic partners. This should be a sobering thought. I have no doubt US is also providing intel to India as well. Maybe even targets.
