Yes, the recession is in the past. I asked how we are currently suffering. I then said that we are on the way up. What is wrong with that?
It is systemic, we'd borrowed too much. That has been corrected.
Hmmm, Germany population is not growing, it might even be shrinking. Whereas the pop of the Uk is growing.

NOOO the recession is not in the past if the bank of england is thinking of printing more money. We arnt on the way back up i wish we were. Never mind Jamie. lets get back to the thread america is in decline period

So funny....in some part of the world people have so much free time for predictions.

US is nowhere heading for collapse anytime sooner (maybe in the next 60-100 years), the economic crisis in the 30s and in the late 80s were much more severe than this debt crisis, yet they emerged as a stronger nation after the crisis. I guess Europe has much to worry about than US about this debt crisis.

This is simply not true. This is the first time ever in capitalist soc we have had a systemic failure and its freely admitted in the west. Simply capitalism allows badly companies to go bankrupt. The banks in the west have been saved by govts taxing people and putting money into failed banks because they are afraid that the entire capitalist system will fail
