How many Muslims do they have? They are known single nation states. China has at least 20 million indeginous Muslims living in China for hundreds of years without major conflicts (crusades or such), so your comparison with Japan and Korea is very laughable.

Something like 200 000 in both Japan and South korea but what does it matter how many muslims they have, the fact is those countries have freedom of religion and muslims are much more free there.

I was comparing the religious freedom between China,South Korea and Japan. Repressing someones religion has nothing to do with wanting Independence.

We treated our Australian Indigenous population terribly but stopped decades ago. We admit it and our prime minister formally apologized on public tv, something that the Chinese are unable to do.

Japan and Korea have no minority problems, those tiny single nation states are nothing like China, China is against any separatist movement under the disguise of religion, be they Dalai Lama , radical Islam or Falungong, yes. If you call that persecution, be my guest, we're not gonna change it, it helps China being peaceful and stable achieving the fastest growth for several decades.

As for your indeginous poplation, almost killing them off and apologizing to an handful of lucky survivors is a good strategy? They, as a nation, were finished already thanks to your consistent racial genocides, I don't think China would try this strategy.

Why Japan and South Korea? why don't check your daddy britain, and see how they treat Muslims in London... Ask the locals if "population does not matter" to them...
If China only has a few hundreds of thousands of Muslim population, who demand nothing more than basic freedom of religion, the only difference they gonna make is making some delicious Muslim noodles, and the government will build beautiful Mosques for them.

I had the fortune of talking to quite a few here in Canada. Most of them told me that Chinese government is harsh in imposing their will on them, mostly around disallowing religious activities. They were satisfied with quality of education though.

Chinese government isn't particularly picking on Muslims. It is harsh on all religious groups. But those groups that have violent tendency will for sure attract more attention from the government. As of the education, you are right. Chinese government gives minorities more opportunities than what they would get in fair competition.
