No long ago US was still the sole superpower in the world and it enjoyed that status for decades, now many still hold on to this deep seated image about America, people won't shake off the ideas and beliefs formed during their growing up. but it's fast changing time for the world now. What used to be true can quickly become a disillusion.

They were talking about what once was the land of the free and the home of the brave.

As one of them remarked, “It is no longer that. It is more like ‘the land of the homeless and the home of the disillusioned.’

Who else in China drives around the country? Point them out to me and I'll use their videos. I don't mean people who go in tour groups to designated spots. I mean somebody who actually gets in their car and drives around exploring...which seems to be a complete rarity in China.

No, you didn't. Your life here was the same as in China. Bouncing from airport/train stops to airport/train stops and never seeing what was beyond the reach of the local city's subway/bus system. You probably don't even have a driver's license for a car or motorcycle so how can you say you know what things really look like in either countries if you haven't explored it?

The world is barely bipolar, and definitely not multipolar. From science and technology, to economic, to military, to education, to soft power the US is by far the most powerful in the world.

I’m not sure what you mean fast changing. The US will surpass $30T GDP in 3-4 years. The only nation in the same ballpark is China. People will always choose the US over China.
