What's new

America Didn’t Decline. It Went Global.

National boundaries have burred. True.

But look at shell gas technology, look at social media revolution etc etc, if you think USA has lost its front seat on technological advance, think again.

I beg your pardon? Are you giving me that for replying I see for what you said?

For starters Shell is not even American....No one is talking about Technological advancements...You on the right thread?

Do tell more. You can start with explaining how € kept it's status as 2nd largest reserve currency despite the recession in the past years which brought out the calls and predictions for it to fail. Some coming from USA as well, rating agencies as prime example.

Don't even mention BRICS currency. LOL.
Brazil, Rouseff faced mass demonstration in 2013 because of mass corruption, no perspective for the young, Russia, propped up by oil, real economy is actually going down, India i don't know much about, can't be that good if rupee takes a nosedive regularly and it's value fluctuates so wildly India has been left below the 2 trillion $ year after year, China, ponzi scheme with more then one bubble, government sets the exchange value ie as long as it stays like this there's no way anyone will hedge their bets on yuan. "S" is South Africa? you get a good job there as long as you're black.

Best of all, you're some guy named Sreekumar talking about who controls who and what needs to be done, while not having a clue about the basics.

#edit:

Now, with that said, i am no fool to deny the influence of US in EU. i can read about it every day, US state and corporate lobbysts in Brussels and alike, but you have to look at it pragmatically.
If you were US, would you not want some leverage over an entity where you basicaly sunk a whole lot of money to (NATO budget) for it's protection. And similarly from a European standpoint, what has 60 odd years of leeching the US defense budget brought us.

Just need to correct your misconception on the highlighted part. You'll get a good job in the civil service if you are Black in South Africa. The private sector still remains a White male bastion when it comes to jobs

Apologies, i means shale gas... and decline or rise of any nation has always depended on technology...
Well that is true....but the decline most people associate with America is not in terms of its technology ....but in terms of its overall view as a nation + how it is doing back home....

At global level due to some sanctions left and right, some threats left and right, some control left and right, some agents left and right, some strings pulled here and there and of course not to forget the dollar being held as petro money and anyone attempting any change in that will have to face civil unrest in 1 form or another.....only shows either a pirate or a bully not a power!

This is how power is exercised by those who possess it. Its always been like this. Read the history of transnational powers in the past, from UK, Spain before that, and Ottomans, to Russians, Persians, Arabs... you name it. There is no humane benign way of exercising power, power is hard.

Of course and then there is indeed soft power, which is a different dimension altogether, but America is no 1 there too...

Well you underestimate BRICS .
And only just talk about future .not present condition.

Right, i underestimate.

I guess that's why finance minister's of emerging countries are urging the US one by one the that it should not stop printing 85 bill.$ a month which mostly ends in emerging markets' economies as hot investment money.

Oh again. That is what I told already .It may happen in future only not now.I already said each countries in BRICS still too depend on US.But in future it will change.

Haha, America is a net debtor nation. A lot of America's vaunted GDP is made by foreign multinationals, foreign residents, and illegal immigrants.
