Amercian consumers are unequivocally the losers in us china trad war IMS say

. .
More like Wal-Mart and costco

Notice the blatant dishonesty.

The IMF research, published on Thursday, found that “tariff revenue collected has been borne almost entirely by US importers”. Extrapolating that further, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) found that “some of these tariffs have been passed on to US consumers”.

It is the South China Morning Post that passes its dishonest verdict about US consumers being "unequivocal losers". The importers are absorbing almost all of the costs. Even the claim of some costs being passed on is an extrapolation of the data. :D

Shortsighted claim. More like Trump administration is putting pressure on American firms to up their game and stop providing technical knowhow to China for the sake of access to Chinese markets.

The crux of this trade war become apparent from following articles.

US-China relations heading towards reset.

The US CPI has also dropped from 2.3% to 2% since September when the first round of tariffs were introduced.

Inflation is currently at 2%, falling from 2.3% in September.

There may have been rising prices for specific goods but overall US consumers haven't carried the cost of the first round of tariffs. But that could change in the upcoming months.

Hi,

We are long overdue for a recession anyways, the timing of which will play a great part in the next elections and hence subject to many influences.

.
i say trump will only be a one-term president. American citizens will remember who landed them in this state on voting day

listening to fake claims speeches and atually feeling the pinch on their wallets are two difference things.

It all depends on how the economy is doing in the run up to the elections.

. .
it all depends on how much they are paying for their shoes, groceries, etc- at walmart. household expenses add up- there's no missing out

We still have some time till the elections.
