I don't care about Hinduism. I don't care about Islam. Of course I have my opinions on both. But this post is not about that.
I believe that the situation leading up to 1947 and that today are an evolutionary continuum that is not yet done. But things have changed.
The Muslims who were a power in 1947 have gone increasingly downhill in impact. There are a number of reasons for this. Pakistan. The baggage of partition. The perception of other Indians. Their own ghettoization and community indrawing. Their lack of leadership. Their readiness to be used as pawns rather than actually find their own voice and space. Their lack of investment in education. Radicalization. The vicious cycle of the downward spiral of poverty and explosion in impoverished uneducated numbers. These have all contributed.
But the 90s were their last throw of the dice in terms of actually violently challenging the Hindus. The day Dawood burnt Mumbai and left for Pakistan, the die was cast. The Hindus knew it was their time. And they put their foot on the neck to crush it once and for all. Advani started his yatra. The Mandir. And then Godhra.
I believe the Muslims are finished as far as being a threat to you guys. MORE IMPORTANTLY, YOUR SANGH TOP LEADERSHIP KNOWS IT.
The are milking a dry teat. And whipping up emotions across the country to consolidate what has always been a naturally fractured Hindu vote (natural to India as a land and a civilization of hundreds of kingdoms and peoples and cultures). There was no pan Hindu term or even identity till the British came and called you Hindoos and the other biggest group the Mohameddans. In spite of which, you never once till the 90s coalesced as one entity.
That changed in the 90s. But the BJP and its Sanghi fountainhead still got only one shot of leading the country and pushing their worldview. Then they got into a war. Then the got booted out.
The BJP learned its lesson. Then. They realised that India was not yet ready for the type of pan Hindu identity that they envisaged. That their founding fathers envisaged. And probably would never be. So they softened their stance on Hindutva. Gave it an inclusive benevolent and benign cultural spin. And started milking Modi's Gujarat record for economy and development. With the implied promise of a Hindu strongman who could and would put the Muslims in place when and if the time came. And then they simply rode the imploding Congress gray train to a landslide victory.
A landslide they got because of non traditional BJP voters. The Indian swing vote. The only previous time such a victory was seen was with Rajiv Gandhi riding a similar wave of non traditional Congress swing voters.
Now coming to the topic of Ambedkar and Dalits and how it fits into this analysis and what I believe is really actually happening. Which is a whole lot bigger and far more damaging than the traditional Hindu Muslim narrative.
Pot, I believe we are in the throes of a class war. I believe this war started on somewhat of a level footing (comparatively, civilizationally speaking) with Independence and the constitutional empowerment that Ambedkar provided. But the Indian elite were not ready or willing to give up. So while things changed institutionally, things on the ground changed much slower, when and if at all. The resentment built up. Because now there were tools and safeguards. But no results.
The dalit movement of course was hijacked politically. Many people made empires on it. A lot of money was made by many. Not all dalits. But equally a creamy layer arose among the Dalits. This as literally the story of Hinduism in action. Millennial evolution compressed into decades.
I believe we are in the throes of an epochal rejuvenation, realignment, reformation of Hinduism.
While this might be an INDIAN class war, one cannot ignore the fact that due to the fact that Hindus make up 80% of all Indians, this essentially is a reformist revolution withing Hinduism. One that is not going to end peacefully. One that is spiralling. And might soon be out of control. THIS IS A HINDU WAR. This is not, and has not for some time been a HINDU MUSLIM WAR.
And the BJP and the Sangh are fanning the flames. And other parties like the Congress are as well. And it is going to burn India in unimaginable ways. Across ethnicity and race and language. Something the Muslims could never have done to you. And never managed in a thousand years.

Muslims need to be shown their place. I am against Hinduwadis. But Muslims behave as if they own India. They need to be humbled.
A religious civil war in India is a must.
