Amazing Pictures of PAF!!!

Nothing bad to be a Playboy till you get married, Between 65 and 71 Every Fighter Base Officers mess had Booz and top quality. In Maripure we all used to dress up and at 7pm all Lollywood used to be in the officer mess. You name a Actress and she was there getting drunk and having fun with the guys. Plus we always had a few showoffs I will not no names they never used to take off there G-suite even the ejection straps, And man the girls used to love them. And it was not only lollywood it was a haven for the Rich and the Shameless:lol: Every Air Hostess of PIA used to be there as well.
Oh I forget to tell you I swear I am telling the truth CROSS MY HEART AND HOPE NOT TO DIE I went to bed at 7:30 pm :lol::lol:
And someone said our guys are Mujahid! Would you mind reconsidering your statement about our 'Mujahids'? We curse poor Yahya Khan for his drinking and womanizing. Fact of the matter is, this was all too common among the mid-higher ranks of Pakistan armed forces (as it is in other forces as well) until General Zia banned that kind of stuff. If Zia did anything good, it was his efforts to improve the 'moral' standards of the Pakistan armed forces. I used to spend vacations at my uncle's place, and I have seen disgusting things in parties and tambolas, and I am talking about 1980s and 90s. But, well, there are reasons for our ongoing demise. When we go totally against the orders of Allah and his Prophet (PBUH), bad things are bound to happen.

Qsaark,

Zia did not ban alcohol etc...it was Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in whose time the messes officially became dry. Zia brought overt religiosity into the officers ranks. I can't say whether this was a good thing or not but it made hypocrites out of many. Those who practiced their religion were always practicing and remained practicing regardless of how the times changed. However the Armed Forces do not require one to be a practicing Muslim. If you are one out of conviction then its good, if not then too you are accommodated. The worst thing that can happen is to push up people on the basis of their overt religiosity. That hurts the profession of arms and many other things. I would also like to say that there were/are excellent officers in the Pakistani Armed forces from both categories (the practicing ones as well as non-practicing ones).

Zia did not realize how corrosive these 'religious' influences on the Army would be in terms of professionalism. People have a habit of looking at things in the extreme, just because the officer is not overtly religious does not automatically imply that he is a womanizer or drinker too. Pakistani Army is for the large part bred from Pakistani society you know, drinking is not institutionalized anymore than overt religiosity is. There are many complex dynamics that are hard to explain to an outsider or someone who’s seem them from a far, but at the end of the day what is important is that they are an effective and reliable fighting force, that’s all that matters. The comprehensive ISSB test is designed to weed out the terminally perverted or indulgent. The events of 71 are unlikely to repeat themselves IMO. Excessive indulgences or trends are kept in check by religious norms and rules and regulation, while excessive religiosity is kept in check by the promotion process which is based on professional merit and the high command which frowns on incompetence.

@ Kasrkin, blain2 and qsaark

Brothers what i asked was that "Do PAF still has that Bad Traditions Inherited from RAF and UK", Things which happened in the Past were really bad and these types of things must NOT HAPPEN ON PAF or GOVT Premises, Thats what i Meant.

PAF pilots must not use their PAF uniform and Pilot officer Standards To attract Women and Show OFF. They can do what ever they want to do in their personal time BUT using PAF's Grace and Standards for Personal Gain and Attracting women is not a Good thing to do.

Yes, it was Bhutto, who under pressure from the PNA, officially banned Alcohol in April 1977.

You are absolutely right here.

All of us being Muslims ARE REQUIRED to be practicing Muslims. One can miss saying his/her prayers, or fasting, or shaving his beard. But the least that is required is to refrain from 'HARAM'. Drinking alcohol, gambling and womanizing are few such things.

The worst thing that can happen is to push up people on the basis of their overt religiosity.

I have not seen examples of this happening in General Zia's time. Officers were promoted based on their merits. In fact we have seen opposite happening in the armed forces before Zia's time and now (after 9/11). More liberal an officer you are, better are the chances of your promotion. This can be seen throughout 50s, 60s and 70s. Those, who were professionally good, yet practicing Muslims, were considered backwards, and generally not promoted beyond the rank of Brigadier or retired before time.

That hurts the profession of arms and many other things.

I do not see, how saying my prayers, and fasting, and refraining myself from drinking and other haram practices would hurt my profession.

I would also like to say that there were/are excellent officers in the Pakistani Armed forces from both categories (the practicing ones as well as non-practicing ones).

You are indeed right here.

Yes, we kept those 'traditions' or what I call 'Bartanwi ghulami ki nishanyan (signs of British enslavement)' alive for the most part. There was a brief period when these practices were 'contained' to some extent but it appears that the non-Islamic practices are coming back in the name of 'modernization'.

There are clear instructions in Quran that don't 'fight with Allah, or you'll be demised'. I am so sorry to learn that that is exactly what we are doing, and the same time also trying to justify our actions.
