Just another prototype, no production until 2025
Back when this project was awarded to BMC, South Korea didn't have an engine. They started and finished their engine program between then and now. Now we're buying the Korean engine and BMC is assembling it in a factory given to them almost free by the Turkish government. The Altay production stalled b/c of the German Embarbo on the MTU/RENK powerpack, but ofcourse this guy wants to go off on a political rant about BMC. lol, can't miss any opportunities to take shots.
The powerpack was not the only subsystem subject to the embargo. All German subsystems on the first Altay system were indigenized. In addition, many subsystems were renewed or additional system integrations were realized as a result of the experiences gained especially in cross-border armoured operations. The Altay production stalled b/c of the German Embarbo on the MTU/RENK powerpack, but ofcourse this guy wants to go off on a political rant about BMC. lol, can't miss any opportunities to take shots.

Umuyorum seçimlerden sonra bu saçma sapan şirket kamulaştırılacak. 1. Ana Bakım Merkez Komutanlığı olarak üretime geçilsin. T-155 orada üretildi, ordu gayet bu işi yapar. Bu çakal sürüsüne proje mroje vermek büyük yanlış.The powerpack was not the only subsystem subject to the embargo. All German subsystems on the first Altay system were indigenized. The speed reduction system, gunner's 2nd degree sighting system, ammunition racks, periscopes, fuel and hydraulic pumps, mobile concealment cover were of German origin. The coaxial machine gun was of Belgian origin. The tracks were under-Licensed by Korean, as were the rotor and turret ring gear, all of these systems were indigenized.
The integration of the powerpack and indigenous transmissions will take a few more years, during which time, in order not to wait bcs of the urgent need, it will be produced first with Korean engines and transmissions, in the second phase with BMC-Power engine and Korean transmissions, and in the third phase with indigenous powerpack with transmissions.
In addition, many electronic systems, armor systems and most importantly the fire control system in the old system have been replaced with new generation systems. And probably the most important issue is that the AKKOR APS system is now ready.
I understand LegionnairE's righteous indignation and I agree with him on some points, but on the other hand, the main team working on the project are people who have been involved in the Altay project from the very beginning, and others are highly respected senior engineers and experts who are well known in the related industrial fields. The development team is very good. and they have a very strong structure behind them, both between international marketing and financial instruments. Things have changed a lot at BMC, especially after Tosyalı Holding acquired a majority stake in the company. The situation will be much better understood when the new factory in Ankara becomes operational.
Not only Altay, but both Leo2A4s and M60Ts are also undergoing a very, very comprehensive modernization. In a few years, the face of armored units will change completely.
There is one more thing: You remember the T1-T3 variant roadmap, don't you? Many additional packages were shown on a roadmap, ranging from structural changes that would create significant changes in the main design of the tank to electronic and situational awareness subsystems, including unmanned turret, automatic loader, personnel quarters and positions, augmented reality-supported global awareness systems... That road map has also changed. More precisely, it has expanded. The existing system was renewed in anticipation of the system requirements for the tank to perform autonomous unmanned missions in advanced variants. The end point of Altay is no longer the T3, but the unmanned Altay. It is all great and i beleive what is said about starting productiom in given timelime this year but projected capacity is low, at least 200 hunder per year would be enough for refiting current tank fleet of turksih army and obliging export contracts.

I get it, hope that for foreseable future that is concluded thing as the constant adding without serial production creates more mess, you need at one point to introduce platform as it is on current state of solutions and later on upgrade it gradually trough various packs of equipment. There is one more thing: You remember the T1-T3 variant roadmap, don't you? The first export agreement has already been concluded with the current configuration. Delegation talks are ongoing with a few other countries. When the serial production starts in new factory at Ankara (next to TAI campus) will initially produce 8 MBTs per month, 5 for the TAF and 3 for foreign operator armed forces. In other words, it will have a 3/5 export ratio with the first production. This is the current capacity planning.I get it, hope that for foreseable future that is concluded thing as the constant adding without serial production creates more mess, you need at one point to introduce platform as it is on current state of solutions and later on upgrade it gradually trough various packs of equipment.
I have more commercial train of tought as you see tha market will be depleted for long time with availibility of modern tanks as the russian ones are out of the game for any serious buyer as well as chinese in certain extent, that is why i am not pleased with announced production capacity, hope that gauge will be expanded in soonest possible time once serial production starts and money starts to roll in.
I don't think so. I have been warning people that this would happen Erdo's dick suckers have been fighting me that BMC would make the tank even better than Otokar. Where are those piece of shits now? They got away. Otokar had the expertise and had the engineers to make this project a reality many years ago with or without the MTU/Renk powerpack. You can see what they did with the ARMA IIs indigenous engine. Please read these two articles patiently.

I am certainly not as implacable an opponent as Fatih Altaylı, and probably neither are you.
I understand your anger, but the situation is not exactly as you say. Mistakes made in the past should not overshadow the fact that the project is now well on its way. The teams working on this tank now are the same teams. Almost all of them have moved from Otokar to BMC. Many valuable people who are veterans in the sector are working on this project. You are also doing them an injustice with this attitude.
I don't care about Ethem Sancak. To hell with him. A dangerous mix of political Islam and neo-eurasianism, as once upon a time Dugin described this russophilly style anyway. My aim here is not to politicize the threads. However, I can assure you that no one will get away with anything, so keep your mind at ease.
