Well only the first and second batch will have MTU Engines, The other 2 will have domestic Turkish 1800hp engines. Turkey is developing an entire Engine family from 35Hp till 1800Hp. Hyundai Rotem doesnt have any share in the project or saying it only acts as a coach for the project. There is barrely Korean Technology involved in the Altay Tank project, They only tranferred Know-how not technology.
Where do you have this informations about the first and the second batch order of the MTU engines. If that were true SSM had already prepared for the ordering of the 500 MTU engines. what i have read somewhere is that Otokar ordered only 5 Mtu Powerpacks for the Prototypes.
Responses to the Request for Proposal for the development of national powerpack family is ending on 27 july 2012 . The choosen firms have till 2016 plenty of time to develop and produce the engines. The developing of the Altay Engine will have first priorty .
