As for today ''alleged''female circumcision... it's mostly a clitoris ablation... this is nothing but Haram...

So it's either ppl don't understand what circumcision is and for what purpose or they don't wish to understand it.

Now does that mean some Muslims don't do it.... no... the ignorant do... by transposing their ''culture/tradition'' into religion...

No I did not call it a problem. The article is calling it a problem. These people class any alternation down to the female's body down there as mutilation, regardless of how it's done or where it's done (africa, arabia, malaysia etc...). Similar to how some of them are beginning to become anti-male circumcision now too.

I am just like you bro, we are both laymen. All we can do is read to learn about a topic and how it is viewed by different scholars or different schools of thoughts. I am not trying to impose a view on you, I gave that link because it simply explains this topic in a good manner.

Of course it is against Islam. Circumcision is only recommended for boys but strictly forbidden for girls. And same is the case in Judaism..and Christianity as well like >80% males in USA are circumcised.
