Allure of ISIS for Pakistanis Is on the Rise

The situation with current existence of ISIS in Pak is very low (may be just a speculation).
Local militants groups such as LeJ/TTP are looking at ISIS mainly because of the financial support.
Killing people/ransom/kidnapping all are profitable business for these scum-bags. Now after lots of on-going fighting TTP's finances and ammo dumps are running out. They are in need of money to run their show, inviting ISIS in the region is part of their game.

ISIS in not existent at the moment.

What we are seeing, is just the local molvis getting desperate to snatch power.

We can create a thesis discussing just what a Molvi is; and that would explain almost everything that we see today.

Even though majority of the comments often tend to focus on our differences, the fact of the matter is that we share a common stance against terrorism. It is also in our best interests to remain unified against those who threaten the safety of our lands. The recent meetings between our officials in the U.S. reiterates the importance of communicating and coordinating to negate the common threat of terrorism. And we are confident of succeeding against our common enemies through mutual cooperation and assistance.

It's actually a joke. Too bad the ones who are supposed to know it's a joke - the media and the people are taking it too seriously, and the ones who're supposed to take it seriously - ISI and MI are sitting on their asses.

I have no sympathy for ISIS and neither do I know anything about their ideology but I must admit that they have achieved in one year what Al-Qaeda failed to achieve in 20 years or so. Observing their strategy, I don't believe that this group will be easily eradicated. Their foothold in Iraq and Syria is already planted. There is a good chance that their bases will spring up and be firmly established in Pakistan before moving into India, Bangladesh and parts of China. Observing their operation in Iraq, they seem to be masters at creating large sleeper cells which can rise up and strike when commanded to do so. In the next 20 years they would have created bases in most of South Asia, Turkey and many countries in Europe with a few cells in the USA. Their advantage is and will always be that the world is too divided on how to tackle them.

The victories that ISIS has won is impressive. Small number of fighters using blitzkrieg attacks won against the Iraqi army. It seems this is the type of victory Taliban will also have in Afghanistan soon enough against the ANA. When the Taliban eventually take over Afghanistan, it will have bad consequences for South Asia as a whole. Extremist elements in Pakistan might feel emboldened to increase their attacks against Pak army even though for now they are recieving a pounding in operation Zarb e Azb. In India too there might be increased attacks in Kashmir. It would be better for Pakistan and India to work together to jointly tackle this issue.

Pakistan is going thru a critical phase , and people want a change , a ruler that will make Pakistan into Developed country and if such honest leader is not allowed to come to power unfortunately people will focus on alternative forms of governance
