Can somebody explain me what BLASPHEMY means??
Minorities DO NOT cease to be citizens. Minorities living in Pakistan or Hindustan do not cease to be citizens of their respective states by virtue of their belonging to particular faith, religion or race. I have repeatedly made it clear, especially in my opening speech to the constituent Assembley, that the minorities in Pakistan would be treated as our citizens and will enjoy all the rights as any other community. Pakistan SHALL pursue this policy and do all it can to create a sense of security and confidence in the Non-Muslim minorities of Pakistan. We do not prescribe any school boy tests for their loyalty. We shall not say to any Hindu citizen of Pakistan ‘if there was war would you shoot a Hindu?’

Looks like a land grab bid hidden in religious offense.
SC to pass punitive order against police officers
March 12, 2013
TheNation
ISLAMABAD – Apparently it was a land grabbing bid instead of any blasphemy instance that led to burning of helpless Christians’ homes, observed the Supreme Court on Monday as it directed the Punjab government to file reply tomorrow so the court could pass punitive orders against the negligent police officers.
Heading a three-judge bench hearing suo moto on the arson and plunder at Joseph Colony in Badami Bagh area of Lahore, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry expressed deep concern over the police failure to protect the properties of the minority community from the wrath of an unruly mob.
The court asked the provincial government that why Justice Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman report on Gojra incident was not made public and why the government did not implement the recommendations of the commission. The court asked why the government constitute commissions on various matters, if it was not interesting in their recommendations.
It also questioned that why the colony was evacuated by the police before this incident and why measures for the protection of Christian community were not taken, if the police was well aware of the threat. Advocate General Punjab Ashtar Ausaf and Acting Punjab IGP Khan Baig failed to satisfy the bench as to who ordered the evacuation and what was the motive behind it. The IGP said the arrangements of evacuation were made by local policemen, the area SP and SHO, in a bid to save the human lives.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed said: “Whenever the minorities come under attack the pattern of Punjab Police had been inaction. It seems the state in Lahore is on retreat. Will the authorities retreat till they are pushed as far as Raiwind (the area where the ruling PML-N leadership have their residences)?” The inaction is a customary way of behaviour of the Punjab police on such occasions as they always have a delayed response, the CJ said, adding that timely steps could have saved the properties of the Christians.
“The residents themselves left their houses after the hysteria grew. As the news of blasphemy broke out on Thursday and Friday the Christians started leaving their homes”, said the acting IGP, who however could not tell who had asked the residents of Joseph Colony to evacuate.
“Why police failed to safeguard their houses and property after their evacuation. Why the instigators were not pinpointed and mob was not stopped from setting the houses ablaze after the blasphemy case was registered and the accused was arrested,” asked the chief justice from the IGP, who remained silent in response. The story of the FIR about blasphemy act is not convincing enough but the subsequent incidents are completely unbelievable, the CJP said as the police remained inactive to stop the instigators gathered at a nearby mosque after Friday prayers on March 8.
The chief justice said that the apparent reason for the arson does not seem to be blasphemy, rather the issue of land grabbing led to burning of the houses of helpless Christians living in the commercial area of the provincial capital. The court observed that evacuation of house by police lends credence to suspicions that it was in fact a case of land grabbing.
The court directed the Punjab government through its Advocate General to file comments in the case tomorrow (March13), so that the bench might pass an appropriate order against all the police officers concerned, including the Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The advocate general submitted a report saying the land measuring 20 kanal belonged to city district government Lahore and had not been allotted to anyone. According to the report, initial survey and follow up verification by committee completed for grant of 5 lakh compensation to each affected family. It said, “121 housing units including 7 shops and 255 affected families were verified by survey committee. Around 50 families have been given compensation cheques. Emergency has been invoked by provincial government and work awarded to approximately 20 contractors hired by provincial C& W department LDA. Nearly 150 people have been arrested by police.”
@Dillinger : I agree with some of what you say whereas I disagree with some !
I disagree with the following :
Now let us call the opposition by its name- Wahhabism- its preaching and its content can be interpreted to violate Article 5 of the constitution, which unequivocally demands loyalty and obedience to Pakistans state and constitution. The problem with applying Article 5 properly lies in the fact that Pakistan's government and legislative setup is not absent religion itself- as long as the constitution cannot be distanced from religion all such ideologies will simply continue to function under the pretext of advocating Islam. If the constitution is to be treated as an extension of Islamic law and teachings then it is difficult to delineate loyalty to the nation (constitution) from loyalty to religion. As long as such a loophole exists it will be difficult to reclaim the loyalty of the citizens.
Without effective implementation of the above the populace will grow belligerent towards the very authorities that are meant to protect them- rendering operations in populated areas extremely difficult. If the populace on the ground does not support you then you will bleed all the more as you try to dominate the ground.
If I were to break down 'why I disagree' in a few broad categories it would be as follows :
(a) One must try to understand the very nature of Pakistan as the vast majority of Pakistanis perceive it to be; for us Pakistan & Islam is interchangeable to the extent that any attempt to take Islam out of Pakistan would invite a terrible backlash from whole swaths of the population & will ultimately result in terrible bloodshed ! Therefore even if one were to have an opposing view-point any attempt to delineate Islam from Pakistan or Pakistan's Constitution would not only be political suicide for any Political Party but would most certainly lead to country wide Protests on a colossal scale at best & secession of whole parts of the country at the very worst. So even if just for expediency's sake we must recognize this as a Big No-Go for the next many...many decades.
(b) To understand why is the 'above' so one must try to understand the conceptualization of Islamic Polity as understood by most Pakistanis who advocate such a position; for many of us the conceptualization of any State where Muslims find themselves in a position of Governance requires certain societal, legal, economic & political paradigms or frameworks to adhere to. Therefore for many of us a State exists always in the ideological and not in the historical, cultural, ethnic, linguistic or even geographic realm; those are parts of our identities...yes & they must be cherished but we are also very much conscious of our overarching identity as Muslims & all the paradigms, the injunctions, standards & frameworks that come with it !
(c) The problem with applying Article 5 properly lies in the fact that Pakistan's government and legislative setup is not absent religion itself- as long as the constitution cannot be distanced from religion all such ideologies will simply continue to function under the pretext of advocating Islam.
Every Ideology whether religious or secular would continue to function irrespective of whether it is excluded or included in the constitution or even the dominant culture/narrative of the land for that is the very nature of 'belief'; even in Secular countries you've got Islamist, even Socialist countries you've got Capitalists & so on & so forth for every single socio-political-economic or legal belief-system out there ! And why ? Because we human beings interpret different things differently - We always have & we always will ! Islam is no different in this case that it follows the same principal - You would always have the 'Ayes' & the 'Nays' who'd flourish or flounder depending upon educational levels, exposure & political & social dispositions of The People !
(d) And so the question arises - Where do we draw the line ? Where does unhindered & unabashed, even offensive, preaching (religious or otherwise) stops & hate speech begins ? If such elements have made inroads into the Society then how do we remedy it ? Do we go in & initiate a hard crackdown or do we adopt a different approach ?
I think the solution to our current predicament lies in trying to answer & implement the answers of the above questions !
On my part I'd much rather a Pluralistic, though not Secular, Pakistan with Religious Impartiality, as determined by the People of Pakistan ! Let every opinion be entertained because even in terms of Muslims we've got so many sects & sects within these sects, we've got devout Muslims who are Islamists, in terms of polity, to avowedly Secular & we've got millions of those moderate Muslims who'd probably want a compromise between the two extremes. Therefore let every opinion be entertained & then let 'the vote' be the touch stone to determine what happens or not.
In the meantime to deal with this situation I'd advocate a multi-pronged approach :
(i) Shaping Public Narrative to impress upon them the righteousness of our cause !
(ii) Targeted Operations against those elements who cannot disagree without resorting to violence !
(iii) Rehabilitation of the aggrieved parties !
(iv) A coherently thought out & well-worked strategy in place to account for the possibility of the repeat of the above !
But for all of the above any Government which has lost the credibility of the people through gross mis-governance or is even perceived as attempting to separate Islam & the State of Pakistan as two separate entities as opposed to the latter being an extension of the former, would never be able to bring the people on board & combat this menace !
Waisee on a side note whatever happened above was solely due to a lack of Governance than some intrinsic contradiction in the ideology of the State; had the arsonists from previous years whose targets were everything from the religious to the secular, been kicked some fear of God in them by being hanged by the traffic lights on the Streets of Lahore for their heinous crimes this would never have happened ! Similarly if these arsonists are punished most severely by the Supreme Court, after the Suo Moto, & those charged with Law & Order severely reprimanded - This wouldn't happen for a while ! If not...this would continue happening.

"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."
Make your religious bed and "lie" about this too..
I have read these things long before Mr and those are not man made Laws those are from Quran and Sunnah Sir these laws are for those who do nothing and don't talk crap about HAZRAT MUHAMMAD SAW we cannot harm them Sir when a person will abuse him he will automatically break this accord Sir@Zarvan
Just read what kind of man our prophet was. And what kind of man made laws you have enacted to persecute the helpless minorities. If he can sign documents protecting them, you think he would go around murdering someone who abuses him? You blind yourself with fake love just to quench your thirst for blood of innocent people. Its just who you have become.
