Is this a problem of one area or more widespread? If it is local, what could be the reason? All students 99% from each of 38 colleges FAIL inter exam In Pakistan

The problem is about whole country. Is this a problem of one area or more widespread? If it is local, what could be the reason?
This:The problem is about whole country.
If it's like this in one sophisticated area as Karachi than can only imagine how worse for rest of nation.
Did you read article.
Moreover, The principals of these colleges were blamed for poor performance regarding enrollment in their respective colleges and they were also unable to increase the number of students. |
Nothing new in it. It happens every year.
These are all shitty bottom of the list colleges where all the garbage students end and they always fail.
Thanks to CAP (Centralised Admission Policy) all the good students with the highest percentage of marks are put into best public colleges, then the medium ones, then the lower ones and then the absolute rock bottom ones. These are all those so called colleges.
But the news says 99% of all colleges in Karachi are failing. So, there are no better colleges that have more than 1% passing rate.Nothing new in it. It happens every year.
These are all shitty bottom of the list colleges where all the garbage students end up and they always fail.

Those who don't get to these lowest level public colleges, to cater to their needs, there are always shitty 'private' colleges are where attendance is non existent.
Exactly, I'm just updating news from Internet.Happens every year but never to this extent. I blame lockdowns and TikTok. People need to pull up their socks and ensure they are equipped to become functioning members of society that can contribute to the growth of the country and obtain higher education or technical qualifications.
But alas this is a far deep rooted problem and one that is not easily rectified, it would also be interesting to see what comes from an examination of the papers submitted.
That said, academically government colleges in Karachi have always under performed.
No, 99% of students of those 38 colleges fail. But the news says 99% of all colleges in Karachi are failing. So, there are no better colleges that have more than 1% passing rate.
So, there are colleges with better than 1% passing rate? The headline does not make it clear. "Each of 38" seems to suggest there are 38 colleges in Karachi. To make the news meaningful, they should have stated how many colleges are there. If there 100 colleges, it is bad to have 38 dunces. With 1,000 it is no great tragedy. No, 99% of students of those 38 colleges fail.
There are always well read intelligent ones and then there are always duffer ones. For intelligent ones, it's a dog eat dog world out here where now they all be busy preparing for University admission exams.I see that above a certain social class, Paksitanis do seem to be very well read and educated compared to Bangladeshi ones.
This is a surprise for me....that intermediate (guessing higher secondary certificate exam or H.S.C) results would be so bad, even for bottom rung colleges.
In Bangladesh GPA (Grade Point Average) system was introduced in 1990's and all board exams (SSC, HSC etc.) were converted to multiple choice then (and results tabulated using SCANTRON like SAT exams), which I took to be a bad thing.
The ability to express oneself in writing (whether English, Urdu or Bengali) and having essential knowledge of each grammar is super important.
Multiple choice ruined that skillset
